The Moon Thief

Chapter 52: One Last Favor

Time passed quickly and almost a year left behind. The mixture prepared by Master Kunes and Heinald was quite an indispensable mixture for the clan. The clan had to allocate too many resources to the Poisoneater Potion. Moreover, the effect of Poisoneater Potion disappeared after a while, but since this mixture was rubbed into the body, the body did not develop an immunity to it. Thus, its effect was always constant.

This mix saved the clan from a huge resource burden. That's why Clan Leader Alvares gifted Heinald 2000 Contribution points. Over the course of time, he had collected more than 3000 Contribution points with the various potions he made and his contributions to research.

Heinald was in the last minutes of his weekly library entry. He closed the thick book in his hand and exhaled. It was the last source of information on the second floor of the library, and he had recorded it in his memory as well. Thus, all the information on the first and second floors of the library was in his memory. He only learned twice as much information in this clan's library from all the information he had learned in his life. Moreover, there were some really important ones among them.

But with the exception of the Magic Combination, those that caught his most attention were the missing potion formulas mixed into ordinary parchments. Heinald found three missing potion formulas on the second floor of the library.

He found these potion formulas on the pages of a book that gave various information about elemental energy.

The first potion formula he found was named Distilled Thunder Essence, which increased immunity to the lightning element by 10% for 30 minutes.

The second potion formula was named Shield of Fire Heart, which increased immunity to the fire element by 15% for 10 minutes.

The last potion was Rhimpous Potion, which increased immunity to the ice element by 15% for 30 minutes.

All these potions were very important potions. It would be great for him if Heinald could somehow complete these formulas. Consuming these potions in a life-and-death battle could be lifesaving.

After Heinald left the library, he went straight to Master Kunes. He would now tell him first that he had to leave the clan. He had used all the advantages he had in this clan to the fullest. He stated that he was working on potions and formulas useful for the clan, and had advanced his knowledge and experience of plants by requesting and experimenting with various herbs stored in the clan store. Moreover, he had read all the sources on the first and second floors of the library.

Sure, he could stay a little longer and get more Contribution Points, but he thought he had enough Fire Emerald Herb. He spent all the Contribution Points he had collected so far on them. Now he would return and repurchase the ingredients for the Spirit Potion and continue his experiments.

"You look pretty busy as usual..." When Heinald entered Master Kunes' lab, he saw him experimenting on Outras Grass.

"I have a brilliant idea..." Kunes grinned.

"I came to talk to you about something important." Heinald walked slowly beside him.

"Oh? What is it?" Kunes raised his head slowly and looked at the young man beside him.

"It's my time to leave the clan." Heinald said.

"Oh..." After a few seconds of silence, Master Kunes gently nodded.

"Yes, I have other plans I have prepared for myself and unfortunately I cannot stay here any longer." Heinald sighed.

"Although I didn't want to admit it, I knew that a talent like you wouldn't want to stay here for very long." Kunes said.

Heinald remained silent.

"Actually, there is one last topic I want to talk to you about." Kunes said.

"What's that?" Heinald was curious.

"Have you heard of Albin Redsand?" Kunes glanced at the young man standing in front of him.

"Of course, I have seen his name in many of the sources I have read. He is one of the most gifted Potion Masters known." Heinald nodded.

"He is my father." Kunes said.

"What!?" Heinald's eyes widened, and when he thought about it, he did not know Kunes' last name.

Master Kunes was actually the son of Albin Redsand!

"So why is he here and not with his family?" Heinald thought.

Various questions arose in Heinald's mind. Albin Redsand was quite famous and his reputation alone was probably superior to this clan. He wondered why Master Kunes preferred to work in this clan.

"My father normally doesn't meet anyone who comes to his door, but I think he will consider my letter of recommendation." Kunes stroked his beard.

"Why do you work here instead of working with your father?" asked Heinald.

"I'm too... incapable of working for him." Kunes had trouble speaking.

Heinald would never have guessed that this old man next to him had family problems. Although Master Kunes did not show his age, it must have been close to almost two hundred years. Despite such a long time, the point he had reached in Potions and Herbs was not a high point. Presumably, his father did not see the performance he expected of him in his youth.

"Your father's anticipation for talent must be pretty high..." Heinald kept his thoughts to himself and gave Kunes the kind of response he wanted to hear.

"No, although I have years of experience, unfortunately, I am not a talented person and I am aware of that. If I was as talented as you in my youth ..." Master Kunes did not complete his sentence and shook his head. He went to his desk and wrote a short note on a piece of paper, put it in a jade envelope and handed it to Heinald.

Then he paused momentarily and lifted his finger and he opened one of his desk drawers again. "There is one more thing I would like to give you. There is a technique in this book that teaches you how to suppress the energy you radiate, it can be very useful in confidential situations."

Heinald did not instantly know how to react to this precious gift. He stood there in a daze for a while, then smiled and bowed her head. "Thank you, Master Kunes ... for everything!"

"You don't have to thank me for anything, but I should thank you for helping me with so many things. Oh, I'd better write you the address before I forget." Kunes wrote down the address of his family on a small piece of paper. To make things easier, he also gave him a gold medallion that was only owned by family members.

After saying goodbye to Kunes, Heinald went and spoke with the clan leader. Although the clan leader tried to persuade him to stay in the clan but he did not succeed. It was time to go now, he had to move on. The goal of getting here was to get enough Fire Emerald Herbs, and he did just that.

After Heinald left the Risclaw Clan, he started his journey directly to Jusen City. After traveling for months, he reached the front of the city's gigantic walls.

"I hope I can enter that underground market area without him." Heinald was thinking of the shop called Res Aunres, where he entered the city's main market area, last time Reulon vouched for him, but this time he was not with him.

When Heinald entered the shop called Res Aunres, he saw Reulon's old friend. He was praying for the old man to remember him, otherwise he wouldn't let him pass.

"I'll remember you somewhere, but... Oh! You are the young man next to Reulon, I remember you!" Old Riphes had a good memory. He managed to remember this young man who came with his old friend.

"Hello, sir. I have run out of materials I bought last time, I need to buy some again." Heinald smiled slightly.

"Reulon has vouched for you, you can pass." Old Riphes nodded and pointed back.

Heinald reached the market area after quickly passing the tunnel. He went to the shop where he bought the materials he wanted before. He purchased all the materials and thus paid a total of 30,000 Arkana Stones for the Spirit Potion ingredients.

"I have to remember to buy ingredients to craft Eitruis Potion and Astol's Caustic Poison Potion, which I learned alongside Master Kunes." Heinald thought inwardly.

Eitruis Potion can put Apprentice Ainsars to sleep for 3 days if inhaled. It can even put Level 1 Ainsars into a sleepy mode for 20 minutes, making it a useful potion even when fighting against a Level 1 Ainsar.

Astol's Caustic Poison Potion breaks in the area where it was thrown, and the poisonous mixture in it spreads rapidly in the air. The area within 300 meters is corroded and rotted by the effect of the toxic mixture. If a Level 1 Ainsar stays within this area, it will take serious damage within seconds, and if breathes, will have a fatal consequence.

Heinald also bought the ingredients for these potions, and after paying a total of 2000 Arkana Stones, he left the market area in no time and headed for Guljan Town. He would prepare his Soul Potion there without attracting anyone's attention, if anyone saw him, he would get in trouble.

When Heinald arrived in Guljan Town, he immediately rented himself a house again. When he passed by his old shop, he saw that it was given to a different person. In fact, he was thinking of opening a potion shop again in the future, but this time he wanted to open it in the city.
