The Moon Thief

Chapter 51: Experimenting Hard

The next day, Heinald went to Kunes and helped him with his research. After doing his job in the lab, he went to the first floor of the library. He would leave the right to enter the second floor until a day when his head was more empty. He thought it would be helpful to start learning a lot of intermediate knowledge on the first floor already.

Other clan members in the library were giving strange glances at Heinald, who quickly turned the pages of all the books and then threw them aside. They all thought he was looking for a special topic, none of them actually thought he had put all the information in his memory at a glance. So after a while they gave up on him and concentrated on their own business.

He wanted to memorize all the information he could get, because he knew that in the future, high-level information could come on top of this information to complement them, and they could give him great advantages. This information was not in a single category, they covered many categories about magic. This included branches of alchemy such as Potions and Herbalism.

"Heh ... Lisbon Herb Root is also fresh out." Heinald sighed. He had been studying Spirit Potion ingredients for the past few days and trying to understand them. Thus, he would gain more experience for the construction phase and form the 'right' way to do it in his mind.

Though thousands of Arkana Stones worth of materials were spent on experiments, he would not have cared if he eventually succeeded. Getting the Spirit Potion was more important than anything else. But he had to buy materials again. He was able to find these materials in a secret marketplace in Jusen City. It was not possible for him to travel there now.

"Can I find the materials I'm looking for in the nearby cities?" Heinald asked himself, a thoughtful expression on his face. After thinking for a while, he decided to put this aside for now.

Heinald decided to meditate for some relaxation after clearing the remains of the experiment in his room. He sat in a comfortable position on his bed, but just as he was about to begin his door knocked.

When he went and opened the door, he saw an Apprentice Ainsar in front of him.

"Sir, sorry to bother you. Master Kunes is calling you to the lab." Apprentice Ainsar bowed quickly.

Heinald immediately went over to Master Kunes.

"I have good news for you!" Kunes said when he saw Heinald enter the lab.

"What's that?"

"Resi Tiger Eye is resistant to toxic gases in the area." Kunes' mod was pretty good.

"This is nice!" Heinald nodded.

"But it alone does not leave very pleasant results on human skin, we have to make some adjustments on it." Kunes stroked his beard.

"This is the easy part!" Heinald smiled confidently.

"Oh? The easy part?" A confused expression appeared on Kunes' face.

"If I'm not mistaken, impurities inside the eye destroy the skin, right?" Heinald scratched his chin.

"Right."

"I discovered a purifying formula the other day. After doing some experimentation with it on the eyes, I'm sure I can get a good result. I just have to determine the exact amount I should use. Heinald shrugged.

"A purifying formula can damage the structure of the eyes ... Are you sure about that?" Kunes' expression was uneasy.

"Don't worry, the formula I discovered is not like other purifier mixtures." Heinald said.

"Really? Let me take a look!" Kunes looked excited.

"Alright! But first I need some ingredients ..." Heinald made a list of the materials he wanted. Fortunately, all of these items were in the clan storage, and they arrived in a short time. After about an hour of treatment, the purifier mixture was prepared.

Kunes began experimenting with the purifying mixture on a variety of materials, and his heart rate began to accelerate.

"Did you create the formula for this mixture?

Heinald nodded.

"You really are ..." Kunes exhaled loudly. This young man in front of him continued to surprise him.

Heinald knew all the properties of tens of thousands of plants. So he could predict, when necessary, the results that could be achieved by combining the effects of various herbs. Of course, not all of these predictions were correct, but they could fix this problem with various experiments. Moreover, his knowledge of alchemy was not only in plants, he also had a good knowledge of various animal and beast organs.

"Well I guess I'm not bad." Heinald smiled and touched his nose. In fact, he did this show on purpose because he would demand materials from the clan and expand his knowledge by experimenting with them, saying that he would make potions with good effects for the clan. Kunes' reliance on him meant that supplies would be handed over to him without any problems.

The first phase of the plan was completed.

Heinald left the lab and headed for the library. He would only spend two hours on the second floor. So he had to quickly store all the information sources there in his mind. A tiger statue guarded the entrance to the second floor of the library. As he approached the tiger statue, it suddenly turned into a living tiger. When he showed him his badge, the tiger returned and stoned again. Meanwhile, the strong steel door had begun to open.

"Your time is limited to two hours. If you use a spell or any magical item, you will be executed immediately." A cold voice echoed.

Heinald did not see a single person around when he came in, in fact it was quite normal, there were very few elite members of the clan. He was going to devour all the sources of information on this floor, so he did not choose a particular category and took the first books he saw and quickly began to turn their pages. Heinald memorized all the resources he could find as quickly as he could.

When the two-hour period was over, he saw the tiger coming towards him. He closed the book in his hand and stood up and headed for the exit. He felt awkward as the tiger behind him followed him in silence, a shiver arose inside him.

When Heinald went to his room, he checked a thousand pieces of information in his mind. The second floor of the library was a truly special place. He had already learned many different things and terms he hadn't known before.

"Magic Combination" was the most important of these. Spell Combination was clearly meant to integrate two different spells and create a different superior spell. He had thought of this concept before but was unaware of its existence.

"Damn ... There is very little information about this in the source I found. If I had some more information ..." Heinald sighed.

Each spell had a specific pattern. This pattern determined the properties of magic, the way it was created, and its effect. When this pattern was constructed in the mind, it was fused with Magical Energy as the last step and created magic. But the important point was that the pattern was balanced, if there was an error in the pattern the magic would backlash. To make a Magic Combination, two patterns had to be intertwined, but this was an incredibly complicated process because it took a lot of experimentation and calculation to balance the two different patterns. The slightest imbalance between the patterns would cause the magic to fail and backlash as pure energy.

Obviously, if Heinald tried to combine the two spells, he wouldn't even know where or how to start. However, since such a concept existed, the ancient Ainsars must have done a lot of experimentation and calculations with this concept.

"More ... I need to find out more about the Magic Combination concept ..." Heinald had a serious expression.

In the following days, Heinald helped Kunes prepare the toxic gas-resistant blend. The impurity in the Resi Tiger Eye had been removed, but it could not withstand toxic gases for a long time. So by adding various ingredients and plant extracts, they improved the durability of the mixture.

"With the Contribution Points I have, I also wanted to get different resources in the clan, but unfortunately I need to buy Fire Emerald Herb with all of them." Heinald had a serious expression, after all, he had to leave when the time came, and he didn't have much time to collect Contribution Points.

He should have helped Master Kunes produce potions in all his efforts and assist him in various researches. So he could earn a lot of Contribution Points in a short time. On the other hand, he had the right to request various plants from the clan, and he would experiment on those plants and develop his knowledge base. Finally, he would learn all the information in the Clan Library.

There were only three things to focus on.
