A Story of Evil

Chapter 60: The Temper II

"Well don't just stand there, RUN OUT!" Blaze commanded.

Before anyone could act, Jade threw a large rock into the wall. The object was shattered right away; leaving nothing but dust that was lost in the flow. And this made Blaze take back his words, pissed at Jade who once again humiliated him. Not long after this, a voice finally began speaking from above the walls.

"Maaaaan and I was really hoping that you'd be stupid enough to run through my [Hydro Cage]." It was a Water Titan, there was no doubt about it.

"But Tenri was right though, you guys really are a bunch of overconfident idiots."

There was a reason why the water titan was so confident. He was watching closely as they fought the orcs earlier. And with his own eyes, he confirmed that, the flame titans only had some ultimate spells left. They still had mana but, with how wasteful they were in the fight, he knew that it wouldn't be enough for them to beat him.

"Well? What do you plan to do now?" There was a smug expression on the water titan's face. He was obviously taunting them into using their other spells. But through Blaze's proud eyes, all he saw was a peasant who needed to be reminded of his place. And this proved to be a fatal flaw at that moment.

"Cinder cast your ultimate!"

"But, it's not useful for battles."

"Just do it!"

Cinder did as she was told, summoning her [Flare Phoenix] into the filed. The creature's wings flapped out flames and its whole body was, itself, coated in flames. Steam rose from where its fire met the waters.

"HA! WHAT CAN YOU DO AGAINST THE MIGHTY PHOENIX?" Blaze proudly exclaimed as the phoenix flew towards the water titan. Yet he didn't even flinch as water tentacles suddenly came from all around the walls. This grabbed on the phoenix and smashed it down. Creating even more steam as the tentacles continued beating the creature up. Extinguishing its fires completely.

"What can I do against the phoenix? I can kill it of course. HAHAHAHA!"

"COWARD! Come here and fight us fairly!" Blaze shouted, infuriated about the fact that they ere completely cornered.

"Fairly? Bro this is a warzone, there's a little thing called tactic, genius."

It was the as Jade expected. They have been placed in a difficult position. All because Blaze didn't know how to back down when needed nor, to conserve strength. If they fought those orcs while utilizing their skills, they would have been able to save some. Yet because of Blaze's orders they were required to go all out.

"I bet your old man is embarrassed by you right about now." The water titan continued taunting.

"Shut up!"

"Prince Blaze, let me fight." Jade asked

"NO! YOU SHUT UP TOO!"

Soldiers made of water came out of the walls – surrounding the five in the middle. The soldiers held spears, pointing at the five who were slowly getting pushed into the center of the [Hydro Cage].

"Blaze! We need to use Jade!"

"No! he's not going to steal the spotlight again! We can win this! Our opponents are just made of water!"

The more Blaze spoke, the more he was sounding like an idiot. All of them knew that water was the natural counter to their flames and yet, Blaze kept spouting nonsense all to safeguard his pride. They bit their lips and clenched on their weapons, doing as they were told and attacking the soldiers.

Blaze was the first; leaping up and enchanting his sword with flames. It was the only skill he had which didn't require much mana. Yet aside from him, nobody else could use any skills.

"Behold the power of the last prince!" He exclaimed, hitting one of the water soldiers cleanly through. With steam rising on the where his blade met the waters. He was so confident that he killed his target that, he didn't even bother looking.

"Behind you!" Jade was forced to move. Bringing out his halberd which he stretched in the nick of time. Blocking the water soldier which was about to stab Blaze. The same opponent which the prince thought he killed.

"What the…"

"They're made of water! As long as their catalyst is here there's no way for us to win!" Jade said yet the prince still refused to listen.

"Shut up! All of you attack these soldiers! Don't let that bastard's words get to you!"

The water soldiers, upon getting smashed, sliced or damaged by the physical attacks simply formed back again. The fire titans, who were already tired to begin with, were slowing down – their breathing getting rugged and their lungs tightening up air.

Jade watched through all of this. He watched how he would probably suffer death without even fighting back, all because of Blaze. But this wasn't his greatest concern. His fear was mostly for his mother. How she was still locked in the king's castle and, how she would immediately get executed upon Blaze's death.

"You know it's funny how you guys are the champions right?" The single water titan commented again. Jade was worried about the fact that there was only one of him.

"I mean what's so special about fire?"

"I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"

"Oh so you can still curse foolish prince? I guess that resilience of yours is at least top notch."

"Blaze! For fuck's sake just let Jade fight!" Tristan's temper finally ran out. In such a dire situation there was no need to hold back emotions.

"Hey no need to fight amongst yourselves. You're all gonna die anyway." The water titan said and, it wasn't even an empty threat as rainclouds began forming right on top of the cage.

"This little move turns every raindrop into a needle. It won't hurt that much individually. But I doubt you'll only get hit by a few."

The soldiers have slowly but surely cornered the five titans. They were all in the center and, even with all the traps being laid out and their death being evident, Blaze still refused to call out to Jade.

"BLAZE!" Nathan screamed.

"I SAID NO!"

"HAHAHA! King Nova I hope your other children aren't as arrogant as this one because, I honestly see no chance of your domain surviving with such an inferior model." The water titan spoke directly to the Odd Ball floating on top of them.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY!"

"Ahh so dull. Can you just shut up and accept that you aren't all that?"

The spell was finished channeling. The clouds got even darker than they were a few seconds ago. It was only death that awaited them yet, Blaze still refused to acknowledge that he was incapable. That he was a fool. That he led his own team to danger and was, at that moment, even leading them to death. And this was all the cornering needed for the true leader to surface.

"Let's cast a vote."

"What are you saying you – " Jade punched Blaze in the face; slamming him down the ground leaving a shocked expression on all the faces of the members. The water titan didn't allow this to go on and began raining down the water needles.

Yet, just as everyone thought that they would die, steam rose right on top of them. Jade was finally using his flames and, it was so thinned out that it was almost non-existent.

"I'll take this off right as soon as you give your answers. Now, those in favor of me leading the group, raise your hands."

"HA! Nobody would – " It was another shock for the prince as, all the other members didn't think twice. They all raised their hands unanimously.

"Good."

"You dare make a fool out of me! I'm the prince!" Jade also didn't hesitate, kicking Blaze in the stomach and making him cough out blood.

"I'm getting your ass through the culling whether you like it or not. Now shut the fuck up and let me lead." He said, increasing the intensity of his flames and creating a pillar of green flames. All the water in the area immediately evaporated. Revealing the other water titans who were actually hiding around the area.

"So you're finally gonna fight huh."

"Yeah. And I hope you're ready to die."

"Hahaha! You seem to get your cockiness from your prince! What can you do? Most of your members are already exhausted."

"Oh I think you're mistaken about one thing." Jade said, materializing his halberd out of thin air.

"I'm more than enough for all of you."
