A Fallen Knight-Lost art of Necromancy

Chapter 70: Spooky Dresser

It was as if Severus heels were on fire. He was walking so fast and swift as if he was roaming in the empty streets. Unlike earlier vigilance, now he wasn't as careful. He tugged and pushed her while dragging her along the way. She felt like she was his sword which was glued to him all the way.

Desella knew that Severus' heart was in turmoil thus she cooperated quietly. Although she felt annoyed while following his leads and there were several instances when she wanted to just shout at him but whenever she brought herself up for a scolding, Severus expressionless face made her swallow her words.

If Severus was smart when he smiled then he was a cold beauty when he was expressionless. His Purple iris was shining alternatively, combed with his jet black fringes which were covering his forehead, all in all, Severus looked breathtaking.

Somewhere deep in her heart, she was grateful that Melanie was not able to see Severus again.

That woman was up to no good.

Desella face turned hot.

Fk, what the hell am I thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!

Desella tried reasoning with her own brain and finally controlled herself. Day by day she was falling, falling very hard for him but she knew that it was meaningless. Even if Severus ever fall for her, they both will fall in an endless abyss.

It was sad and slightly painful thus she tossed all these sad things behind her subconscious and tried fully concentrating on her mission to have fun inside the castle.

Sure, Seeing the crown prince naked upper body is considered as a fun, Desella giggled while thinking about the crown prince.

Severus noticed that Desella was behaving oddly so when he turned back to look at her, he found her giggling. He was startled for a moment.

"Eh! Why are you giggling?"

Her smile slipped as soon as he pointed out." Does it matter why? You asked me to have fun, so I am having fun. Why? any problem with it?" She asked casually but her tone was filled with menace.

"Neh….Have fun please miss Desella"

Severus didn't know how should he respond thus he didn't say anything else and continued there journey, but this time there were some expressions on his face and he wasn't as forceful as he was in the beginning. Desella felt proud of herself for bringing back emotions on his face.

Soon they reached a hallway. It was not entirely dark as the corridor had few small lanterns but they were just enough to dissipate the darkness. You couldn't see anything despite the lanterns present there.

"Ummm…...Severus. Is it only me or this place seems blurry?"

She was not sure about her vision as she was the ghost. There might be chances that some spells or charms were present there to stop otherworld entities entering inside. This made her hesitant to venture inside.

Severus shook his head in denial," No it's not your vision. Any mortal or spirit would find this scene as blurry"

Alarms started ringing inside her head."But why? I think this is a trap. We shouldn't go inside Severus." Desella warned him. This time she was not afraid about herself but was rather afraid about him. She had lived the part of her life but Severus hasn't. He had dreams and plans which he wanted to achieve thus he needs to be alive for that.

"Where are we?"

"In front of the chamber of secrets"

A gasp escaped from Desela's mouth. As far as she remembers Severus had once visited this chamber with Noworry but the after-effects were too serious and deadly to handle.

"No way, you are going there again. Have you forgotten what happened to you, when the last time you went there? You would be long dead if not for noworry and despite knowing this you want to go. I don't understand why do you want to risk your own life."

Desella puffed her cheeks in annoyance. She can't believe he wants to die. Just how many people are blessed by heavens for reincarnation? Maybe a handful, but here, Severus, always finding ways to die.

Severus knew that Desella was worried for him but he can't step back from the path he has chosen.

With a casual smile Severus faced her and in next instant said seriously"There is no other way to do this Desella. Moreover, I believe in you." With that, he swaggered and went inside the chamber.

-----------------

Inside the Chamber.

Everything was the same as it was earlier.

"That old king sure likes everything to revolve as he wishes. TSK TSK, ugly old man"

Severus surveyed the room. He wasn't a stranger to this room as he had once ventured inside it. Nothing incited him, not wealth nor gold. Every single item present there was materialistic and Severus felt disgusted seeing all that. He was well aware of the bloodshed that had been done for conquering this wealth.

"Humans need to be taught morals and values as their foundations, not just finance and lecherous manners. No wonder I always thought that there was something wrong with the thinking of commoners of Rivera kingdom. Guess its all thanks to tyrannous nature of that old man"

Severus wandered inside the room for some time but he didn't found the thing which he was looking for. Soon he saw a shelf filled with scrolls. Hr rummaged with the scrolls for another 15 minutes but to no avail.

"What the heck!"

He cursed loudly. He was annoyed now. This room which was the core of Rivera kingdom, where numerous secrets lie was nothing just a waste to him. The things which were present here was of no use to him and the one useful thing he was searching for was hidden somewhere.

Severus was utterly clueless and frustrated.

"That Damn man. Cooldown Severus. Take it as a strategy game."

Severus calmed his chaotic mind and with a focused and, once again surveyed the room. Now that he surveyed the room with more concentration, he was able to figure out the pattern. This chamber design was like a large bento box with various compartments with side compartment in it. Several hidden traps and charms were there to protect the honourable treasure of Rivera Kingdom.

"Nevermind, I need to find it"

Soon he spotted an isolated place in the room.

"How the hell can I miss this…..OOOOOF"

Severus hit his head with his hand. He wanted to curse but cursing to oneself doesn't felt good to him.

With large strides, Severus came in front of an object. It was hidden by purple silk cloth making the object more mysterious. It was an odd existence in the chamber but due to it's positioning inside the room, Severus wasn't able to detect it. If not for his keen senses and focused mind, he was sure he would have missed it.

Soon he uncovered the object and removed the clothing.

Swish

With one soft tug, the object was uncovered.

"....."

Severus brows wrinkled for a second in confusion but in next instant evident shock could be seen in his eyes. The purple iris started fluctuating between purple and black, which was its original colour. He felt strange energy radiating from it, which made him hesitate to touch it.

It was a large antique mirror or you can also say as a Baroque mirror. The mirrors was heavily carved and decorated and has typically feature pediments, flowers, and cherubs in their intricate, gilded siding. The mirror looked extremely regal and traditional. It was one of the mirrors which every princess would want as her dresser. No matter how much regal and aesthetic it looked, for Severus, it was just a dresser. He was confused why would a damn dresser would be placed inside the chamber of a secret. For an object to be placed here only means one thing that, it was a highly valuable treasure.

"Shizzzzz I should have brought Desella inside. There would be a chance that she knows about it."

Severus again became lost.

The book Curses and Wills disappeared after Desella confessed to him and the last thing which it showed to Severus was an object covered with purple cloth. It was cited under it that he would feel a connection with it but that's it. Three was nothing else.

"Connection my ass!"

"How can I believe in a damn spooky dresser. Who knows what curse it may have. I am already cursed a lot. Do they think I am Vantablack, who would just absorb all the curses? Fk off"

Severus sighed. He knew it was dangerous but he didn't fear the dangers. It was just that it was mentally tiring for him to meet with new mysteries every day. Every time he tries to solve one of it, the next get linked to it. Now there was a long list of mysteries and cases with him to solve and he was clueless for everything.

"Sometimes I just wish I can rush inside that old man's chamber and kill him but alas!"

He can't.

He isn't powerful to kill that bastard.

What Severus didn't know was that when he was immersed in his thoughts, his reflection which was inside the mirror didn't follow his actions. The mirror didn't work the way it should have. The Severus on the other side of the mirror smirked.

It was an evil smirk filled with malice. The reflection of Severus stealthily tried holding the real Severus but just when it was an inch away from Severus collar, Severus felt something amiss. He felt a dark shadow which somehow overwhelmed him. He looked up to see but what met his eyes was horrific beyond dreams.
