X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 55: Cleaning The Mess

Gathering his Blood Minions might be a little shocking and he knew as well that his Blood Minions were one of his trump cards so he didn't dare to reveal it to just anyone. It was still fine if his tamed beast would learn it since it was his trusted subordinate but Sheiyn? Even if he wanted to be put on good terms with her, he would not dare reveal anything to someone he just met recently even though she seemed trustworthy.

Jim walked towards the window and from up there, she saw Sheiyn walking on the street while Bantay following her behind without her knowing it. Jim could tell that Sheiyn was going to the crowds who were greeting his two Titos who just arrived.

Nodding in realization and as he could see that there was no harm on it, Jim shifted his attention towards his Blood Minions. All of his Blood Minions were flying across the land far and wide. He communicated to all of them and summoned all of them at once.

All the Blood Minions received the summon of their master as they immediately flew back towards the village's direction afraid to anger their master if they become a bit late.

Meanwhile, around this time, Anna had already finished reporting to their Village Chief Sam and Jason. She just told them what was the most important thing that had happened while they were gone and summarized everything else so it didn't take too long for her to be finished.

Sam who heard all of it nodded in realization as Jason seemed to not care at all. Instead, Jason shifted his gaze towards the portal as he muttered, "I wonder what's that woman doing right now."

Of course, he was talking about Charley. He wasn't too worried if the other party went alone inside the dungeon since she was strong enough herself. It was just that, they were currently facing a Knights of Hell this time. Although they were just a clone and was a lower version of the original member of Knights of Hell, their strength wasn't something to joke with.

Sam also saw through this. He as well fixed his gaze towards the portal as he asked Jason, "Should we enter the portal?"

There was a few moments of pause before Jason replied, "There's no need for you to go there. Let me go alone instead."

After which, he vanished from where he was standing together with a mist only to appear just below the portal. He turned his head up and gazed first towards the portal to have a closer look. After which, he jumped from the ground and went to the portal directly. The moment his body touched the spherical portal, Jason vanished right away.

Seeing the other party, Jason really was speechless. He couldn't find a word to refute Jason. But there was nothing else he could do as well, he knew that if he went inside the portal, he might receive another beating from that darned woman.

So instead of intending to go inside the portal, he decided to just do his task as a Village Chief and arrange for the people to clean up the mess. That being said, he ordered the Hunters around to fix the surroundings that just became a battlefield.

Of course, he didn't forget about Jino as he ordered someone to take care of him.

Anyways, hose who had a wooden ability were utterly needed. Knowing this made Anna felt lightheaded. As the one who was the strongest Hunter in the village who used the wooden ability, she knew as well that she had the greatest responsibility and was tasked to grow plants and trees in a much larger area.

Trees made by World Energy wouldn't last long so every one of them had real plants or seeds to plant for them to make them grow faster using their World Energy. And it was pretty much of a tiring work compared to directly grow plants and trees out of nowhere using their World Energy.

Those who had a water ability didn't just stand as well. Although it was much slower, they could still help to grow plants and trees. They were also healing those wooden ability users who were tired of work.

Earth users cultivated the land and make the ashes be buried underground. They even fertilized the soil using their World Energy so that plants would be able to grow.

Other hunters who didn't have this sort of ability didn't stand idly as well especially the lower-level ones. They were running from here to there to deliver potions that could restore World Energy to those Hunter who needed it. It wasn't much tiring compared to those people who directly use their ability to clean up the mess but they were at least doing their best to help.

On the other hand, those higher-level Hunters especially the S-ranks who had no use became useless. They just watched the commotion outside for a while then went to their own houses to rest.

Sam didn't stop them as well since he also did the same. After ordering the bunch to do this and that, he immediately went back home and rest. He was not tired though, it was just that, he was too lazy to do anything.

The lower-level Hunters didn't complain as well. They knew full well that this was a privilege for a higher rank Hunter. So instead of being dejected, what they felt was a motivation to train harder and become stronger.

In reality, the S-ranks didn't go back home just to rest. They all felt useless and weak as they all thought how large the gap between them and the demons. They had just face a Semi-Demons and they had already died. Including Jino who caused the greatest damage, all of them died miserably from the hands of the Semi-Demons, how could they become happy with that?

They went back to their room and decided to just become stronger instead. After which, they opened a certain door that was leading to some kind of another space. They all held their breath before they entered and said, "It's time to suffer..."

Though they didn't do it and said it at the same time, that was the main thought of what all of them had done and said. They all had died so they knew as well the price of dying. And right now, they were going to pay the price since it couldn't be prevented and the price might become greater as the day passed by.

They then closed the door and immediately after that, a shout of agony echoed inside that certain passageway. As if they were suffering from hell.

It was hard to tell what was inside but one thing was certain, it was a terrifying sight that even the S-rank Hunters were forced to enter that room. If not for the price they needed to pay, they would never think of entering that room.

Meanwhile, Anna who felt burdened couldn't wait any longer to pay the price as well. She was afraid that the longer she delayed it, the greater the pain she would suffer.

So she asked the other Hunters to take her place instead as the Hunters didn't refuse as well. Not only Anna, but even the other Hunters who died on the battlefield a while ago also had all made a request to their comrades who didn't die.

As a result, only several A-ranks were left probably not more than twenty. All the others who were left were B-ranks and below, but what help they could do on this large battlefield? They might give some help but it would take a few days for them to finish restoring the woods from its original state.

But what else could they do? They knew as well what would those Hunters who died on the battlefield were about to do. If they refuse their request, wouldn't it appear that they were a bit cruel?

So as unwilling as they were, they still agreed with them as they watched their comrades leaving out the area. They really wanted to cry this time especially the A-ranks who were left. They knew that the greater responsibility was in them as well as the greater work.

If they could just turn back time, they would probably choose to get careless and be killed on the battlefield.

Helpless, they still do their work wholeheartedly for they all wanted to finish this task already.

Sheiyn was there the whole time and watching what was going on. Of course, Bantay was still tailing her.

When Sheiyn saw all of these, she still remained silent. But of course, she didn't dare to go outside the village for she was afraid to interrupt the Hunters who were busy cleaning the mess outside.

She just stayed inside the village and watched the Hunters from there. Though she was curious about something, she waited for the opportunity to ask anything. She really wanted to know where did her idol, the Queen Of Illusion, had gone into.

She didn't see her anywhere but there was no one she could ask since all of them were busy. She was still planning to go outside the village and ask a certain someone for a moment when suddenly, she saw many Hunters coming inside the village. She could tell that all of them were A-ranks.

What's going on? Sheiyn thought that they were already finished doing their task.

But the battlefield was still in a mess and only a little portion was fixed so how come did they finish their task already? Sheiyn doubted that finishing their task wasn't the case.

The Hunters walked past through her and only smiled at her for a moment when they glance at her. But they didn't say anything and continued their walk towards their home.

"Hmmm...?" Sheiyn knew that something was going on but she didn't know what and she didn't know where to ask as well. Thankfully, someone approached her from behind as the other party was chuckling softly.

Sheiyn turned around and saw a beautiful lady. She could tell that the other party bore no ill intention just by seeing her smile so she asked, "Did we perhaps know each other?"

"No, I think you don't know me." The other party replied with a chuckle as she continued, "But I know you."

The other party was of course no other than Anna. She was still walking to her home when she caught sight of this girl. Delighted, she came closer to her to greet the other party.
