Turns Out, I’m from a Real Aristocratic Family!

Chapter 6

Dead

Chen Yang glanced at Fang Yuan and reassured her softly, “I’ll take care of her, don’t worry.”

“Okay,” Fang Yuan replied, turning her attention back to Old Madame Fang. There were so many things she wanted to say, but she left the ward without uttering a word.

….

In another VIP ward of the hospital, several doctors were in a state of urgency.

“What’s happening? Why did Old Master Bo’s condition suddenly worsen?”

“I heard he stopped taking his medication because he wanted his grandson to visit the hospital…”

“That’s preposterous!”

As Fang Yuan walked out of ward 201, she accidentally collided with a doctor, who hurriedly rushed past her.

Observing their urgency as they headed toward ward 206, Fang Yuan couldn’t help but glance at the ward as she passed by. The elderly man inside appeared to be in a critical condition.

“He’s risking his life by ceasing his medication!”

“What should we do now? Have we informed the patient’s family?”

“The family is en route. We can only make a decision regarding the surgery once they arrive at the hospital.”

Fang Yuan halted at the entrance of the ward and interjected, “He won’t make it by the time the family arrives.”

Upon hearing her remark, the doctors turned their attention toward the door.

Standing there was a young girl, seemingly 17 or 18 years old, emanating a powerful, icy presence. Her eyes were clear, and she possessed long, fair legs.

“What do you know, little girl?” One of the male doctors dismissed her due to her young age. “This elderly man’s condition is extremely complex. If he’s willing, we’ll do everything possible to save him as soon as we can.” He could only wait for the family to arrive before making any decisions.

Fang Yuan arched an eyebrow and asked curiously, “Is rheumatic heart disease really that severe?”

“You can tell?” The male doctor asked in astonishment.

Another female doctor chimed in, equally surprised. “Young lady, do you have knowledge of medicine?”

“If you can identify it as rheumatic heart disease, then you must also know that this condition requires a valve transplant. This elderly man has already undergone multiple surgeries!” The male doctor explained.

The girl raised her gaze and rolled her eyes, seemingly unconvinced. “Another operation won’t suffice. Without a complete course of antibiotics, there will be infections and valve leaks.”

The doctors were left dumbfounded by her words. This young girl truly possessed an understanding of medical treatments!

“She’s so knowledgeable!”

“Yes, she even understands the complications…”

The decision to stop the medication without authorization had led to infections and peripheral valve leakage.

“Why are you discussing matters with a child? How long until the family arrives?” A voice interrupted the conversation. It was an elderly man, Professor Wang, the most esteemed cardio specialist in the hospital. With over 50 years of experience, his voice carried a sense of authority.

“Professor Wang,” the doctors addressed him respectfully. One of them responded, “Based on their current speed, it will take at least 20 minutes.”

Twenty minutes was too long. Professor Wang knew that Old Master Bo could not hold on any longer.

Having undergone a mitral valve replacement surgery abroad, Old Master Bo experienced peripheral valve leakage upon his return to the country. He sought treatment abroad once again and had another operation. However, the symptoms resurfaced shortly after the second surgery. The situation had become critical, and seeking treatment abroad was no longer a viable option. Under immense pressure, Professor Wang performed a surgery with an extremely low success rate, essentially defying medical odds. Yet, not long after, Old Master Bo found himself facing the need for surgery once more!

“Also, his condition has worsened. He initially had an upper respiratory tract infection, which progressed into pneumonia. Just as the pneumonia was being controlled, he experienced heart failure…”

Professor Wang had just discovered that Old Master Bo had developed valve pericardium and endocarditis again, putting him in an extremely critical condition! Under these circumstances, the success rate of the surgery was less than 5%. Waiting for the family members to arrive and sign the necessary agreements seemed to be the only solution. Even if the patient passed away, the hospital would not be held responsible. They had done everything within their power.

However, considering Old Master Bo’s current state, waiting for the family was not an option. Without taking immediate measures, he would not survive more than 10 minutes.

“Professor Wang, should we wait for the family to arrive?” Su Jing, a young female doctor, asked.

The other doctors remained silent, their gazes fixed on Professor Wang, awaiting his decision.

Observing the hesitation, Su Jing decided to take charge. Ignoring the professor’s silence, she firmly stated, “Go and retrieve the sedative and heart-suppressing medication.”

As the nurse was about to comply, Fang Yuan, standing at the door, spoke languidly, “Injecting those medications now will surely result in his death.” Even if the gods themselves were present, they would be unable to save the old man once the medication took effect. His frail body would not withstand the potent impact of the drugs. Administering the two injections would be akin to delivering a death sentence. They would only temporarily revive him, but he would perish within half an hour.
