Turns Out, I’m from a Real Aristocratic Family!

Chapter 14

Poor People

Chen Yongchang followed Fang Yuan’s gaze and asked in surprise, “What are you doing here, you little boy?”

“Grandpa…” Chen Yang replied helplessly, “I work at the hospital.” It seemed his grandpa had forgotten about this. His grandpa, who always had a peculiar temperament, acted so friendly in front of Fang Yuan. He even seemed to be trying to impress her!

Yang Chen was astonished. Who was she exactly? She had managed to earn his grandpa’s admiration to such a degree. Could she have another identity beyond her exceptional medical skills?

“You’re so fortunate to be Little Yuan’s assistant!”

Fortunate to be her assistant? Had his grandpa developed dementia? Yes, the girl was skilled in medicine, but was she really that incredible?

“I told you to take care of Madame Old Fang in ward 201, did you pay attention?” Chen Changhai asked casually.

Chen Yang replied, “I visit her every day…”

“Every day?” Grandpa Chen interjected. “You will visit her three times a day, no exceptions!”

“Grandpa, I’m very busy too…” It wasn’t feasible to spend all day with just one patient!

“I’m reminding you to be attentive, but you’re not!” Grandpa Chen slapped Chen Yang on the back. “You rascal, it’s been too long since I last scolded you. You’re getting more insolent, aren’t you?”

Chen Yang didn’t want to be scolded, so he quickly fled. “Grandpa, we’re in a hospital, keep it down…”

“You brat, how dare you run? Do you think I can’t catch up to you? I just ran three kilometers!”

….

Ten minutes later, a worn-out Rolls-Royce pulled into Jin’an Garden. Inside the garden were 22 opulent private villas, each facing the serene lake. The car cruised along the spacious, leafy road and came to a stop in front of a villa. A couple had been anxiously waiting at the gate, and upon seeing Old Liu’s car, they exchanged a concerned glance.

“What happened?” Cheng Ye asked, worried about the state of the car. Where was his precious daughter? Was she safe?

As Old Liu stepped out of the vehicle, the couple was taken aback once again. Qiao Xinhui exclaimed in surprise, “Old Liu, your glasses and clothes… Did something happen on the way? And where is Yuanyuan? Is she alright?” They turned their gaze towards the back of the car.

“Sixth Miss, I’m fine. We were rear-ended by a truck on our way here,” Old Liu explained respectfully. “Sixth Miss, you’re home!”

Fang Yuan turned around and locked eyes with the couple standing outside the car.

Qiao Xinhui had been renowned for her beauty in her youth, surpassing even the TV celebrities of that era. Though she was now 50 years old and aging gracefully, she still exuded the allure of a mature woman.

Tears welled up in Qiao Xinhui’s eyes as she saw Fang Yuan. “You must be Yuanyuan, my precious daughter!”

Fang Yuan wasn’t accustomed to such a sudden embrace, but she felt a faint sense of warmth.

“Come, let me take a good look at you, my child.” Qiao Xinhui cupped Fang Yuan’s face. The child possessed exquisite features and fair, rosy skin. With tears in her eyes, she asked gently, “How have you been all these years in the Fang Family?”

“It’s alright,” Fang Yuan’s simple words caused Qiao Xinhui to burst into tears once more. As long as her daughter was living a good life and hadn’t been mistreated, she could find solace.

“We should be rejoicing that our daughter is home…” Cheng Ye spoke up, his eyes also filled with redness. “Let’s continue the conversation inside and make sure our daughter doesn’t tire herself standing.”

“Yes, Yuanyuan, come in,” Qiao Xinhui said, taking Fang Yuan’s bag and handing it to Cheng Ye.

Cheng Ye held the unbranded bag and looked at Fang Yuan’s slender figure. A lump formed in his throat. Had his daughter been leading a good life all these years? She was already an adult, yet she didn’t even have any designer clothes or branded bags.

With that in mind, he slowed his pace and waited for the mother and daughter to move ahead.

Then he took out his cellphone and made a call. “I want to have 100 sets of clothing and shoes custom-made for my daughter. They must be one-of-a-kind and delivered before sundown today!”

“Yuanyuan, from this day forward, this is your home,” Qiao Xinhui said, holding Fang Yuan’s hands as they entered the mansion. The garden was adorned with rare and valuable blooming flowers.

In the center of the garden stood numerous servants—housekeepers, drivers, chefs, gardeners, bodyguards, and maids…

They all bowed respectfully. “Welcome home, Sixth Miss!”

As they walked through the garden and into the living room, Fang Yuan noticed the walls adorned with precious calligraphy, paintings, and antique artifacts. So, this was the supposedly impoverished Fang Family…

Fang Yuan’s gaze landed on an ink painting—the “Seven Galloping Horses.” It had recently sold for 200 million at an auction. An ancient painting dating back 1,000 years, undoubtedly authentic.
