With her face all crumpled up, Jiang Mianmian bit down on her lower lip and, as much as possible, tried speaking calmly, “Uncle Zhan, my great general… just why exactly are you doing this? Which part of me has caught your eye? I can just change it!”

There was no clear expression on the man’s face, but somehow, as she looked at him, she got the feeling that he was slyly smirking away.

He then pinned the young lady into the seat and ordered, “Hand me your ID.”

With a jolt, she desperately clutched onto her purse and shook her head repeatedly. “I don’t have it. I didn’t bring it out with me!”

Not bothering to spare her a glance, Zhan Muqian replied in a clear and cold voice, “Is that so? Let’s head back to the presidential palace and retrieve it then.”

“…” She was practically snarling by now. “Zhan Muqian, I’m not gonna get married to you. It’s broad daylight now, surely you’re not going to force me against my will?!”

She thought he was about to bring up the topic of their copulation again, but to the contrary, he coolly said, “Alright, we’ll not marry then. In that case, I shall tell the president that I’ll be sending his delinquent daughter right into the military campsite for proper disciplining.”

The little tigress, with her glistening eyes widened, was about to flare up at him when he suddenly raised his hand and rubbed her on the head.

“What are you upset about?”

“… I’m only 18. I don’t wanna get married and have children. I…”

His lips hooked up and his eyes formed faint crescents at that. That look of his was so sexy it could practically cause a nosebleed.

As if he were cajoling a little pet of his, he stroked the girl’s head. “I’ll protect you once we’re married. By then, not only will your father no longer try to restrain you, but your stepmother and stepsister also can’t bully you. I’ll help you to get back the assets your mother left behind after her passing, too. And, if you have any other requests, you can bring them up to me as well.”

It got her staring askance at him. How did he know that Mom’s assets… are now in Li Shengyuan’s hands?

Her eyes bulged big and wide. “Can you really help me get back my mother’s assets?”

He answered with an ambiguous smile, “Of course. I’ll include this term in our prenuptial agreement. This is my promise to you.”

With crossed arms, she pondered over it for a while before she eventually peered at him and declared very seriously, “I have another request!”

“Pray tell.”

“Once we’re married, you must give in to me and mustn’t force me to do the things I dislike!”

The man nodded in tacit agreement.

Her heart could not help trembling at the sight of that gentle smile on his face. Somehow, she found him to be… a sinister and crafty person!

It took a long time for Jiang Mianmian to snap out of her daze as she held onto the foreign red booklet with her fair little hands. She sold herself to a man just like that.

Soon after, she was taken back to Zhan Muqian’s home — a villa in a quiet and secluded area that was meant for government officials.

He led her to the entrance of a bedroom. “You’ll be staying here from now on. There’ll be people taking care of your meals and everyday life.”

As someone who was used to doing as she pleased, she frowned when she took a gander of the room’s interior. “My great general, can I please not stay in such a girly room?”

Not only was the bed’s canopy a round shell shape, but there were also curtains and laces all over. It was a typical princess bedroom with the colors — light purple and pastel pink — as its main color scheme.

The man looked down at her. “Mianmian, you’re an eighteen-year-old girl.”

“…” She rolled her eyes at that but decided against shooting a retort at him. Instead, she opened her luggage to get out her laptop to surf the internet.

The contents of her luggage got the general squishing his brows together.

He crouched down to pick up a gaudy red dress from the luggage. The fabric of the dress was so thin that it was practically transparent and it could hardly cover her butt.

He stared down at the teenage girl with heavy makeup, turned around and ordered the housekeeper, “Aunt Qiao, please throw away all the over-revealing clothes Ms. Jiang has in her luggage.”

She immediately shot right up from the sofa at that. “UNCLE ZHAN! You’re being too intrusive!”

With a look of disgust, he threw the bunched-up gaudy red fabric into the paper bin and then pinched the little tigress’ tender face. “Don’t you know about that already?”
