“Understood, Mom,” Liuli replied. “But I’m feeling a little nervous.”

“It’s normal to feel nervous on such an important day. Just follow Jingxing’s lead,” Lin Yu reassured her.

“Oh, Mom, can I go back home tonight?” Liuli asked in a hushed voice.

The thought of having to share a bed with Mr. Tang tonight, coupled with the earlier incident in the bathroom, made her blush once again.

“How can you talk like that? Who goes back home on their wedding night? You can visit us in a few days and then come back,” Lin Yu said, trying to contain her laughter.

Liuli responded with a sheepish “Oh” and felt a bit embarrassed.

At the entrance of the banquet hall, Liuli, Tang Moxi, the bridesmaids, the best man, and her parents stood in a grand lineup.

The continuous flow of guests made Liuli realize just how many people were in attendance.

The image of red envelopes flying through the air automatically flashed in her mind.

How much money would she have to collect in wedding gifts?

No wonder the Tang family had booked the entire banquet hall of the hotel.

After the welcoming ceremony, it was time for a Western-style wedding in the hotel garden.

Liuli retreated to the dressing room, touched up her makeup, and changed into her wedding gown.

The bridesmaids and the best man entered the venue first, followed by the flower girl with a tray, and finally, the bride.

Yu Zhiyuan held his daughter’s hand. For some reason, Liuli suddenly felt a surge of emotion, as if her father was giving her away to someone else.

“Liuli, my dear, don’t cry. You’ll ruin your pretty face,” Yu Zhiyuan coaxed his daughter.

Liuli nodded and pressed her lips together, afraid that speaking would unleash a flood of tears.

The wedding march filled the air as Yu Zhiyuan held his daughter’s hand and walked toward Tang Moxi, who stood at the other end of the red carpet.

“Moxi, today I officially entrust my daughter to you. Please take good care of her in the days to come,” Yu Zhiyuan placed Liuli’s hand in Tang Moxi’s and instructed.

“I will, Dad,” Tang Moxi replied.

Yu Zhiyuan nodded and formally handed his daughter over to Tang Moxi. Only a father who had given his daughter away in marriage could understand the ache in his heart.

Liuli stood before Tang Moxi, looking as though she were facing her own execution.

Even through the veil, Tang Moxi could sense Liuli’s awkwardness.

As he lifted the veil before her, he whispered softly, “Smile, or people will think I forced you into this.”

Initially feeling a tinge of sadness, Liuli couldn’t help but burst into laughter at Mr. Tang’s words.

With that, Tang Moxi fully lifted Liuli’s veil, revealing her beautiful and radiant face.

Tang Moxi embraced Liuli and leaned down to kiss her.

Liuli’s face flushed, and her mind went blank.

Though it wasn’t their first encounter, it was the first time they were publicly displaying their affection.

Just the thought of it rendered her momentarily speechless.

From that moment on, Liuli felt like she was in a dreamlike state.

Until Mr. Tang whispered in her ear, bringing her back to reality.

“Liuli, if you keep daydreaming, I wouldn’t mind kissing you again!”

“Uh…” Liuli snapped back to reality.

She happened to hear the emcee pose the question:

“Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and cherish him, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, till death do you part?”

Liuli turned to look at Tang Moxi.

She had agreed to the engagement, but was she truly ready to love him unconditionally, to be faithful to him for the rest of her life, no matter the circumstances?

In that moment, Liuli felt a wave of confusion.

This was a sacred vow in love. If she said yes, she would be committing to a lifetime with Mr. Tang, growing old together.

Was she truly willing?

All eyes were on Liuli, including Tang Moxi’s.

He gazed at her quietly, his eyes filled with tenderness. There was no pressure or impatience; he simply waited patiently for her answer.

“I do!” Liuli finally replied.

She had no other choice, and retreat was not an option.

She couldn’t bear to disappoint Grandpa Tang, Grandma, or her departed Grandpa.

Her marriage to Tang Moxi had been predetermined long ago, even before she was born.

It was as if Grandma had destined her to marry into the Tang family when she couldn’t do so herself.

One of the Yu family members had to repay the debt owed to the Tang family!

Finally, they exchanged vows and rings, and signed the marriage certificate.

The emcee announced, “You may now seal your union with a kiss.”

Tang Moxi embraced Liuli and slowly leaned in to kiss her.

Initially, it was just a gentle kiss.

Tang Moxi was momentarily taken aback, but he quickly composed himself and released her. However, he whispered a half-sentence in her ear.

“Wait for me tonight!”

Liuli blushed, realizing he was just teasing her!

With the formalities of the marriage ceremony completed, it was time to proceed with the cake cutting.

Tang Moxi held Liuli’s hand as they made the first cut together.

Liuli’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she looked at the cake.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t simply sit in a corner with a plate of cake and savor it in peace. There were guests to greet and celebrations to partake in..
