The Abandoned Hunter

Chapter 9: Proxy - Part 2

"Ya... I'm pathetic... even with this vast power... I'm useless..."

Jay was sad and now he really felt that he should have never been born. All he did was waste his parent's money and power. He wasted their time and all he could was do was frown over everything.

He wasn't a successful person. Not a good brother, a bad son and also ineligible to be an Hunter.

At least that's what he believed and kept on saying to himself when suddenly the Black Dragon said something which changed his way of thinking.

"Human... do you know what a pond is?"

"A- A pond?"

"Yes... A pond."

"Yes I do know what that is but... why..."

Jay had no idea of what the dragon was trying to convey.

"What if I say that I pour all the water of a pond to a sea... what will happen then?"

"Well... pretty much nothing cause the pond is almost nothing compared in front of the sea..."

"But why is he asking this?" *thinking*

"Haha... good... now did you understand what I was trying to say?"

The black dragon smirked as he asked Jay.

Jay after thinking for a bit replied, "Are you trying to imply that there is something that can hold greater strength and adding very small thing to it won't cause much change?"

"Good, you are close, but not exactly correct."

"Then..."

"What I wanted to say was... CAPACITY!"

"Ca- Capacity!?"

Jay looked at the dragon with surprised eyes.

"Haha, have you ever wondered that even after taking so many enchanting equipment, power boosting pills, and those so called skill boosters, your strength is still the same?"

"Eh!? That..."

Jay thought for a minute and started to understand what the Black Dragon was trying to say to Jay Down.

"I understand... so you mean to say that my capacity is so great that those pills couldn't help me at all?"

"Haha, that is correct! Your vessel that lies to hold the power is so vast that no artificial powers can occupy it easily! But if you were to become my proxy, then you will be able get my powers that will fill your vessel completely!"

"Wow... just... wow! Unbelievable, can I really get that strong? If I get the power from this great true dragon, then I might really be able to become the strongest..."

Jay's eyes were sparkling. It was as if someone had put some jewels in his eyes.

"So tell me... human... are you willing to be my proxy? Will you fight in my stead?"

"I.. I will... I will fight as your proxy, but I'm not sure if I will be able to control the power..."

"I understand. Don't worry, I will be granting you a title, a what power you will get depends solely on you. Also, you will have 5 years to train and take the power completely! After 5 years you must come back!"

"Eh? After 5 years I should come back here?"

Jay wanted to confirm if the dragon would really stay here or vanish since the dragon usually don't tend to live where a human or any other being visits once.

"You will know that when the time comes..."

"..."
