The Abandoned Hunter

Chapter 216: Same Weapons

'Destiny points?'

'What are they?', Jay asked himself.

It was definitely his first time hearing about them. Also, they seemed somewhat interesting just with the name.

'Ding'

[ Destiny points -> The points collected by chosen individuals which come in handy during the battle of Overlords ]

The system just gave a single statement which was more than enough to send chills down Jay's spine.

'The points can be used in the battle of Overlords?', now Jay wanted to know how to use them.

Would the points be used like stat points or would he be able to buy some weapons or items?

He knew not about the exact reason for the Destiny points, but he knew one thing for sure that something unexpected was about to happen.

Whatever he just waited for their battle to begin.

'I just need to enter the demon mode.', was what Jay decided to do.

Demon mode was quite a terrifying mode for him and his body. It would change his body's structure due to which his body would be in pain after transforming back.

This was no small thing so it could be understood that the demon mode should be used only a few times or only when there is an emergency.

If it were to be used at other times, then one had to wait for consequences and nothing else.

Jay thought that it would be wise to give it all in this battle so he decided to unleash the demon mode which he hadn't used against anyone until now.

Yes, he had used it in the practice and probably the confidence came from that place.

Whatever it may be, Jay had now decided to take things seriously.

A crowd had been formed soon which consisted of many different demons, both from Arcane's faction and Jay's faction.

Loud cheers could be heard too – mainly about the Dark Overlord.

They wanted the Dark Overlord to win and no one else after all they were still doubtful of the one who was dark overlord.

Of course, no one knew about Jay's name, all they knew was Dark Overlord.

So the only two cheerings that could be heard were – The Dark Overlord and Arcane.

There was not even a single word mentioning Jay because he simply didn't reveal it yet.

He didn't care about the cheers anyway, all he wanted was to shatter the lie which Arcane had built.

And according to the system, Arcane was none other than the Blood Overlord's Apostle. So there could have been a possibility that he might have misunderstood his powers.

'It would be the best not to become the enemy of an Overlord.', Jay concluded.

With this, he came to know that he couldn't possibly kill Arcane.

If he were to do that, then the Blood Overlord, if he existed at the moment, would get mad and would cause a lot of trouble for Jay.

'I should not forget that I have many things to protect.', Jay thought.

Of course, he couldn't let his family die because of this, His sister had already ended up in a weird situation earlier and there was a huge war amongst the sorcerors. Fortunately, all the sorcerers soon vanished and everything was settled.

The hunters who came to look at the area were surprised by the destruction that had happened, but since they could find no one, they returned soon enough while sealing the area only after the intelligence department arrived.

In conclusion, Jay wanted such troubles to stay far away from his family and friends.

'Sigh, I really have to keep him alive.', he decided this and thought about starting the fight soon because many were becoming impatient.

He was the first one to walk up to the center of the area where they were going to fight,

Arcane walked up too with elegance and style while dragging a huge and heavy weapon along with him.

It was a sword, a long sword that seemed similar to the sword which Jay had.

'That is…'

'Ding'

[ The Blood Sword ]

[ Long Sword]

[ -> A weapon which can only be wielded by the Blood Overlord or his Apostle ]

When Jay saw that he was completely shocked.

"A sword which only the Blood Overlord's Apostle or the Blood Overlord himself can use…"

"Doesn't that actually prove that he is the Blood Overlord's Apostle?", Jay concluded.

So, the Dark Hammer or the Hammer Of Darkness wasn't the only weapon with such a tendency.

The way the hammer served as proof of identification, other weapons identified others too.

'But don't I have the same Blood Sword?', Jay asked himself.

This was way too confusing because he indeed had the same sword.

For a moment he thought that two swords like that existed in the world however that was not the case.

There was only one such sword so two beings having the same sword made no sense at all, at least not to Jay.

But what to do?

The system had asked him to use that weapon because that would increase the chances of his win.

Therefore he couldn't back down from that after all his life and mission was at stake.

Well, he did hesitate for a few seconds, but then he ended up pulling the sword out of the inventory and using it.

'Ding'

[ You have summoned the weapon – The Blood Sword ]

All the demons were chatting about how Arcane had the blood sword and still had the audacity to claim that he was the Dark Overlord.

But they then again recalled the fact that the Dark Overlord was the only exception in case of weapons, after all he could use any and all weapons as long as they were made by materialistic beings.

So their doubts had almost subsided when they suddenly spotted Jay carrying the same sword.

This put all of them in a puzzle.

"What the-"

Even the demon generals had never expected Jay to pull out the Blood Sword. Basically they didn't even have a clue that he had the blood sword.

'Haha, I knew they would give such a reaction…', Alon smirked as he thought that because this was the exact reaction which he had given earlier when he had seen Jay take out that weapon.

"What is going on?"

"Both of them have the same weapon?"

All started to whisper amongst themselves.

Never could have they imagined such a twist, well, did the system know that something like this was going to happen?

Arcane was also surprised by this when he spotted Jay holding the exact same sword.

"You bastard, what kind of trick are you pulling now?", he asked furiously.

"I have no reason to answer you.", Jay raised his voice and said this.

It only made Arcane doubt himself and get even more furious.

"Pay the price for angering me!", he almost immediately rushed towards Jay to strike and knock him.

Of course, this was way too sudden to Jay.

He didn't even get the time to use his skills to dodge the attack.

Though, one could say that he was lucky to have the sword at the exact right place because when Arcane swung his sword, it ended up hitting Jay's sword directly.

Maybe Arcane was trying to prove that Jay's sword was a fake one and attacked it purposefully to break it.

Unfortunately, the sword didn't break. Instead of that, a large number of strong shockwaves were generated from the shockwave creating cracks on the ground and other rocks nearby.

It pushed back Jay a bit but nothing such effects were seen on Arcane.

In fact, he wasn't fazed by that at all. Just that he was a little shocked because Jay's sword didn't break despite the usage of all his strength in the attack earlier.

'What the fu*k?'

'My hands are literally trembling?'

The previous attack left his hand numb. They were shaking without his realization, and he only found that out when he looked at them and the sword which was moving weirdly for a second.

'Nah, the match hasn't even properly started yet, I can't possibly chicken out.', he decided that this was the best moment to use the demon mode.

But before using demon mode, he had to use the demon arts to ensure that his body could adapt to the demon mode without any interruptions.

That was why he used the demon arts almost immediately.

"…"
