Survival Story of a Sword King

Chapter 237

Trick or Trap! (5)

A pitch-black Aura bullets shot through the night sky. And it popped.

“…?”

That was all.

Nothing happened.

Confused, Genovia blinked.

“What were you trying to do?”

“I’m not doing anything…”

Pointing behind, Kibie grinned.

“It’s just a signal.”

At that moment, a huge light shot up in the middle of an empty mountain village.

Boom!

Garhan was surprised.

It was Prana of someone at least level 120.

‘Is there still such a powerful Spiritist in Latna?’

The pillar of spiritual art penetrated the night sky and directly hit the dark curtain.

Whoosh!

The moon and stars disappeared, creating a huge crack in the sky. The earth and the heavens shook at the same time, leaking a distorted twilight light.

It wasn’t long before the crack opened, throwing up hell.

The besieging knights of the Kaldris and the Mado kingdoms were horrified.

“Oh, my God!”

“Those are–!”

From end to end, countless Alien monsters poured out.

“Growl!”

“Kaaaaaa!”

Hundreds? Thousands? No, nearly tens of thousands.

So many of them covered every space they could.

Beastly eyes flashed throughout the basin. Their murderous intents became a haze and spread across the basin.

Genovia’s expression hardened coldly.

“… Unexpected events of the night!”

* * *

It was a huge tidal wave that was impossible to resist.

Tens of thousands of monsters appearing through cracks in the dark quickly hit the entire basin.

There was no discrimination in their attacks. They hated all life in Latna, targeting both the dozens of Ancient Dragons and 1,000 elites.

“Growl!”

The besieging network, which had been prepared in advance, collapsed in front of the horde of monsters instantaneously.

Swinging madly, the 1,000 elites of the Kaldris and the Mado kingdoms burst into shrieks.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”

“What? What is this!”

“Why are these guys here?”

The same was true of the Ancient Dragons.

There were too many Alien monsters.

“What the hell!”

“You filthy creatures!”

Hundreds of beasts continued to pounce against the winged reptiles. The sound of destruction resonated due to the surge of consecutive Breaths.

Boom!

In the middle of the chaos were Han-bin’s group, the Thunder King, the Archmage, and Manakiras.

The monsters didn’t distinguish between friend or foe. They were also targets.

Along with the roar, a two-legged walking monster resembling a wear-tiger thrust its front claws.

“Argh!”

Its target was the back of a gigantic muscular warrior.

“Hmph!”

With a snort, his red Blade Aura tore it in two.

No, that was not enough. He cut twenty nearby monsters at the same time!

“Ugh!”

Blood and flesh scattered with screams.

In between, Leon Hart and Effir’s counterattack continued.

Spiritual spears and lightning-type magic swordsmanship techniques were constantly evoked, coating a radius of several meters with a perfect sea of blood.

The situation was similar for the Thunder King, the Archmage, and Manakiras.

-Magic Swordsmanship: Electric Bombing!

Along with that attack, the surrounding monsters were engulfed by blue sparks, burning them to death.

After sweeping the perimeter, Garhan briefly summarized the current situation.

“… This is a mess.”

The level of the monsters appearing from the unexpected night raid was around 80 to 90.

It wasn’t a big threat to Han-bin’s party or the three opponents before them.

But their subordinates were different.

“Hahaha…”

Garhan laughed in vain, finding it ridiculous.

“We’ve been completely beaten.”

He had no choice but to admit it.

That was why no matter how many allies there were, they didn’t seem to mind.

It was too much for everyone to save themselves.

“What the hell did she do? The changes in the night didn’t have as many monsters as this one.”

Kibie replied in a low key.

“There’s no way to stop the raid from happening, and there’s no way to fill the cracks, but…”

She had some of the wisdom of Kybriel, the great Goddess of Darkness.

“There’s a way to tear it apart.”

She had examined the area around Fort Fieldrocks and identified the weakening of the dark curtain.

She picked and chose the area and set up all kinds of magic tools.

It wasn’t to set up a special seal.

“We know that. There’s no way in Latna to overcome this power gap.”

But it existed ‘outside’ of Latna.

“If we can’t force a one-on-one fight…”

The incarnation of the fallen Goddess held her spear firmly.

“We can just increase the number of third parties and make a mess of things.”

* * *

Even as tough conversations took place, the Alien monsters continued to attack.

“Are you crazy?”

With a nervous cry, Genovia swung her staff.

The heatwave surged through the place.

Boom!

Han-bin’s party survived, but all the surrounding monsters were swept away.

“Are you out of your mind, Kybriel? Why would you, the Goddess of Darkness, do this?”

The reason why Genovia couldn’t even imagine such a trick was simple.

“You tore apart the Darkness that you had in your control, even if you couldn’t protect it? You released Alien monsters to the world you were supposed to protect!”

It was like saving a stranger from the sea and the stranger becoming one’s enemy. However, she could understand Kibie.

That wasn’t what the Goddess who protected Latna would do.

It wasn’t just a crack, but it was torn apart as much as possible.

Nobody knew how many Alien monsters would flow through that crack.

How much blood would flow when those were released throughout Latna?

“Are you going to let hundreds of thousands of citizens die to regain your power?”

Kibie replied, pointing toward an empty mountain village.

“He was against it at first.”

A figure was coming through the monsters.

It was a skinny old man who looked well over 70.

“Get back, you bastards!”

Summoning the wolf-shaped spirit and riding it, he pushed everything around him with a spiritual barrier.

His arts were powerful. The monsters couldn’t go anywhere near him.

It didn’t hurt the monsters, but he didn’t get hurt either, making him seem so specialized in defense.

Garhan, who saw him, frowned.

“That guy…”

That old man was the trigger for the night’s unexpected events.

“Plater Cabane?”

He was also over level 120. He had been completely out of the grid because he was hiding all the time.

Joining Han-bin’s group, Plater lightly baptized him.

“Long time no see, you two.”

Genovia frowned.

“Aren’t you Hollien’s disciple? Why are you betraying your teacher?”

“My teacher sent me here.”

“Is that so?”

She smiled bitterly.

Plater’s eyes were cold. He knew the truth.

The old man continued, opening a spiritual barrier to block access of the monsters.

“Certainly, I was surprised at first. It’s something that Latnains can’t imagine.”

“And yet you’ve done something crazy, knowing you can’t handle the consequences?”

Platter replied in the same tone to Genovia’s sarcastic remarks.

“Why wouldn’t we be able to handle the consequences?”

“This is already beyond the reach of mortals! As long as the Goddesses don’t come down to fix this…!”

Instead of shouting, she realized what she had overlooked.

What would happen if they lost here?

The stolen divine power of the Darkness would be returned to the owner, and Kibie would be reformed as Kybriel.

The balance of the shaken world would be restored, and the Dark Curtain would again protect the night.

Was that all?

The Goddess of Darkness would regain her power. All of the Alien monsters that had already been released would perish under the authority of the Goddess.

To avoid that, Omphalos had deliberately attempted to invade through Alien subspaces called Dungeons.

“When Kybriel is resurrected, the night’s terrors will end! We don’t need to pick up the pieces!”

That was right.

It seemed reckless at first glance, but it was a sensible enough trick.

Then what was left…

“Punish the sinners against the Goddesses and bring the world back to its original state!”

A pitch-black Aura rose from Kibie’s body.

At the same time, Han-bin’s group charged in unison.

The war cry of the Red Giant roared among thousands of monsters.

“This is where you lose!”

* * *

Originally, Leon Hart planned to make Ryu Han-bin, the strongest member of the current party, fight the Thunder King Garhan.

The second strongest, Leon Hart and Kibie, would fight the Archmage Genovia. Effir and Artis would handle Manakiras, the level 140 Ancient Dragon who hadn’t yet been identified at that point.

Strategically speaking, it wasn’t a very good deployment tactic.

Kibie was capable of maximizing her skills when dealing with Dragons, the incarnation of the Goddess who created the Dragon race. In that sense, it was rather advantageous for her to fight a level 140 Ancient Dragon instead.

The problem was her safety.

If anything happened to the incarnation of darkness, everything would be over.

A Spiritist that could heal and support had to team up with Kibie.

Meanwhile, to stand up against Genovia, Leon Hart had to fight with her.

Therefore, even though they were not in sync, they had no choice but to take that composition.

“But things are different now!”

Scattered with pitch-black Aura, Kibie blocked Manakiras.

Immediately, the skinny old man stood behind her, forming a seal.

“Will you add strength, my incarnation!”

They had the level 121 Spiritist, Plater Cabane.

He was the same level as Leon Hart, and in terms of healing and assistance, Plater was far more skilled.

Manakiras raised her head high.

“You fake incarnation!”

The Ancient Black Dragon howled amid the monster waves.

“At the command of the great Mado Queen, I will destroy you!”

* * *

‘We can trust Lord Plater.’

Relieved, Leon Hart blew himself over to Genovia. Effir and Artis quickly followed in his footsteps.

A blond young man wrapped around his entire body with a coat of Uroboros blocked the front.

A beautiful silver-haired girl with light armor took the left side, and a red-haired wizard took the back to build a siege net.

A massive wave spread around them, sweeping away all the surrounding monsters.

Boom!

Of course, even the strongest Mage on earth couldn’t stop them.

The blonde black beauty wrapped in a shield appeared again in the bloodbath.

‘This tied the Archmage’s feet, too.’

Looking at Genovia, Leon Hart shouted inwardly.

‘I believe in you, Han-bin!’

* * *

A giant enveloped by Aura raced through the monsters.

Every path he crossed exploded, and blood and flesh splattered everywhere.

Boom!

A red line was drawn between the swarming hordes of beasts. At the end of it occurred an explosion.

-Vertical Cut!

The red Blade Aura burst directly towards a middle-aged man at the center of the catastrophic event.

At that moment, the man’s right hand disappeared, and the devastation soared.

-Magic Swordsmanship: Fangs of The Thunder Dragon!

A vast shock wave flowed through the basin.

Amid the roaring sounds of combat, Ryu Han-bin and Garhan increased the distance again.

Neither side seemed to be shocked.

Looking around, Garhan clicked his tongue. The Alien monsters were still looking for opportunities to attack.

“I have to deal with him while handling those monsters?”

Formidable murderous energy began to rise over the body of the Thunder King.

“Oh, I don’t like muddy fighting…”
