Supreme Dragon Seal

Chapter 53: Sword Dance

Initially, it was expected that Li Dong would hold a banquet at the Lord’s Mansion or at a high-end restaurant in the city. Who would have thought he would be so creative and set up the banquet in a forest in the city.

Although Sentry City is a small city, the Ninefold Bright Moon Creek within the forest is often sung about by many wandering poets.

The so-called Ninefold Bright Moon Creek is a clear stream flowing down from the mountain, passing through nine layers of rock steps, forming nine folds. Every time the bright moon rises, the reflection of the moon on the water creates a unique and stunning view.

From top to bottom, more than ten long tables were set up on the Ninefold Bright Moon Creek, with distinguished figures from Sentry City in attendance. Obviously, being able to host Qi Bei, one of the five young masters of the Nord family, was a very prestigious thing for Li Dong. He wouldn’t miss this opportunity to show off.

Qi Bei did not care much about the event. With his status, he could easily brush off anyone without offending them.

After three rounds of drinks, Li Dong clapped his hands.

Suddenly, the colorful magic lanterns lit up in the mountains, and the music started playing. A group of translucent and cool-dressed girls appeared on a nearby platform and began to dance gracefully.

The young girls’ movements were captivating, and their bodies swayed with the rhythm, causing a stir among the guests. Li Dong looked at Qi Bei subtly, but saw that although he was interested in watching, his gaze was clear.

This wouldn’t do. It was heard that the fifth young master of the Nord family was famous for being picky in the Imperial City, and even though he was young, he had seen all kinds of beautiful women. If he couldn’t satisfy him while in Sentry City, then his hospitality would be too shoddy.

Fortunately, Li Dong had prepared for this. He waved his hand and summoned a servant, whispering something to him.

Soon, the gentle music suddenly changed and became passionate. As if thousands of cavalry were charging across the vast land, with golden armor and horses, bloodshed and killing could be seen everywhere.

Suddenly, a graceful figure appeared, her face covered by a veil, slowly descending from the sky. With a long sword in her hand, she danced to the inspiring music, creating a series of dazzling sword shadows.

This dance, known as the sword dance, was a unique style of dance in the northwest region, performed by women wielding swords. It combines both strength and softness, and even the decadent nobles who indulge in lustful pleasures can awaken their inner courage and vigor through this dance.

Even in the northwest border now, before soldiers set out, they would invite a master sword dancer to perform a dance to boost morale, somewhat similar to the Light Heart magic that inspires courage.

The sword dancer was clearly skilled, every movement of her long sword stirring the hot string within people’s hearts.

Everyone has dreams of being a hero, but in the cruel reality of the passing years, most people’s dreams are buried and never see the light of day.

There is a saying that nothing is ever permanent; everything is constantly changing.

Just as Qi Bei was feeling emotional, the music changed again, from passionate to gentle.

As Qi Bei was lost in thought, the music suddenly changed from energetic to gentle, and the sword dancer’s movements also became softer. Before people’s eyes appeared a scene of soldiers on the battlefield with their dying gaze, yearning for their loved ones, regretting not being able to say goodbye to their parents.

After a long time, the music faded away, and the noisy banquet became quiet.

The sword dancer held her sword behind her back, bowed gracefully, and prepared to leave.

“Miss Die Xin, please wait a moment, can you give this city lord some face and accept a toast from our esteemed guest today, the fifth young master of the Nord family?” Li Dong stood up and called out politely.

The woman stopped in her tracks, glanced back at Qi Bei, and continued down the mountain.

Li Dong became angry and embarrassed, standing up abruptly.

Qi Bei, on the other hand, just smiled and waved his hand, saying, “Li Dong, don’t be angry. Some women are better viewed from afar, and looking at them up close can lead to disappointment.”

The woman paused for a moment, then gave a faint cold hum and disappeared around the corner of the mountain path.

“Young Master, it was my fault for not making proper arrangements. I will drink three cups as punishment,” Li Dong poured three large cups and downed them one after the other.

Qi Bei smiled faintly and said, “Li Dong, the lead dancer among the group of beautiful women earlier seemed quite good. Can you invite her over to have a drink with this young master?”

Li Dong was taken aback. The lead dancer was his 18th mistress, named Xiaoyu. She was originally a maid in a brothel that he forced to become his mistress. He was reluctant to let her go, but he soon made up his mind and ordered someone to call her over.

Not willing to let go of the child, yet unable to catch the wolf – it’s just a woman after all. If he can establish a good relationship with Qi Bei through her, what’s the big deal?

In a moment, a slender figure wearing a semi-transparent green dress with a low-cut lace shirt walked over. Her delicate waist was exposed, blindingly white. The low neckline revealed a pair of breasts that did not match her slender figure, and a deep cleavage like a magnet attracted the gaze of most men present.

“Xiaoyu, come sit next to Young Master and have a good drink with him.” Li Dong said to Xiaoyu.

Xiaoyu looked at Li Dong resentfully and twisted her waist like a water snake to sit next to Qi Bei.

Qi Bei wrinkled his nose slightly and frowned at the strong makeup and fragrance. He preferred the natural scent of women, but unfortunately, women with natural scent were rare, and all of them were top-notch. This made him start to miss Huan Ying, not knowing how far she was from Sentry City now.

“Young Master, I offer you a toast.” Xiaoyu raised a glass of wine and said flirtatiously.

Qi Bei chuckled, his eyes moving from her face to her neck and ample chest, then following her arm to her wrist. His gaze stopped when it reached the black jade bracelet on her wrist.

“This bracelet is nice. Where did you buy it?” Qi Bei reached out his hand and grabbed Xiaoyu’s wrist like lightning. Xiaoyu exclaimed and dropped her wine glass, which happened to spill into the cleavage on her chest, causing laughter among the guests.

In the eyes of many people, Qi Bei was deliberately teasing Xiaoyu, even Li Dong thought so, feeling heartbroken but could only force a smile.

“Young Master, let me go.” Xiaoyu’s eyes flashed with panic, then she twisted her body and coquettishly tried to break free from Qi Bei’s grip. But Qi Bei’s grip was like a pair of pliers, how could Xiaoyu break free.

“I am a person who loves and cherishes beauty. You’d better answer obediently, don’t force me to be a ruthless and barbaric person.” Qi Bei said lightly, his gaze gradually revealing a trace of cold killing intent.

Li Dong sensed that something was wrong. Qi Bei wasn’t interested in Xiaoyu, he was after the bracelet on her wrist.

“Xiaoyu, answer quickly.” Li Dong said, but he was thinking in his mind, does this bracelet have a special origin? If Qi Bei wants it, then he would let Xiaoyu give it to him.
