Supreme Dragon Seal

Chapter 49: Dilemma

The Goth young man finally understood why the princess asked him to yield so easily yesterday.

With over 200 experienced soldiers, their combat power was terrifying. Even Senior warriors would be trapped in the killing formation and unable to escape.

Although they had some means of self-preservation, being in the territory of the Golden Leaf Empire with an important mission, it was better to avoid unnecessary risks. However, the goth young man was still not very comfortable with the situation.

Goths were known for their cunning and cruelty, and they would do whatever it takes to get what they want even if they suffered losses. The goth young man was no exception, but he dared not show any of it in front of the respected Goth princess.

The Goth merchant caravan and the disguised caravan of Qi Bei traveled through more than ten cities along the way, and they were about to leave the Central Province. Once they were out of the Central Province, they would be out of the core range of Emperor Han Mo’s power, and Qi Bei would be relatively safe.

………

On this day, the two caravans arrived at Green Leaf City, the last city in the northwest of the Central Province.

The moon in the sky was intermittently visible, making it look very gloomy. The wind rose, rustling the trees on the street.

“It’s going to rain.” Qi Bei pushed open the window of the tavern room and looked at the slowly gathering dark clouds in the sky, feeling inexplicably uneasy.

“If it rains, it rains. We’re not camping in the wilderness anyway.” Huan Ying behind him said.

“I just don’t feel at ease. Come here and let me hug you.” Qi Bei reached out and grabbed Huan Ying’s smooth hand, pulling her into his arms. She protested softly and struggled a few times, but eventually let Qi Bei hold her. After all, they had been doing a lot of hugging and cuddling lately.

“Now I feel much more at ease.” Qi Bei sniffed the faint fragrance of Huan Ying’s hair and laughed lightly.

As the night grew darker, the long-awaited heavy rain finally came, and the whole sky was covered with dense curtains of water, making it impossible to see anything a few meters ahead.

Qi Bei sat cross-legged on the bed, suddenly feeling a palpitation. He opened his eyes abruptly and said in a low voice, “Xiao Jiu, Thirteen.”

“Master.” Xiao Jiu and Thirteen appeared suddenly, seemingly able to hide in Qi Bei’s shadow at all times without rest.

“Go and check the Goth merchant caravan. I have a bad feeling about it.” Qi Bei ordered.

Xiao Jiu and Thirteen disappeared silently from the room. Not long after, they appeared again.

“Master, the Goth merchant caravan has set off overnight. Those carriages outside are just empty shells.” Thirteen said.

Qi Beihan stood up suddenly, feeling increasingly uneasy in his heart. He pushed open the door and called Jin Gang from the next room.

“Go and get all the brothers ready to go. Bring Lie Feng and Iron Head over here,” Qi Bei said. Jin Gang obeyed and soon Lie Feng and Iron Head came to Qi Bei’s room.

“Master, what’s going on?” Lie Feng asked.

“Weren’t you supposed to be monitoring the Goth caravan? They’ve left Green Leaf City already, leaving behind some empty shells,” Qi Bei said.

Lie Feng and Iron Head looked ashamed and bowed, asking for punishment.

“Forget it, we’ll settle this later. Now, get the team ready to move out immediately,” Qi Bei waved his hand.

“Yes, master,” Lie Feng and Iron Head said. Even if it was raining heavily, they would carry out the order without hesitation.

At that moment, Xiao Jiu’s ghostly figure flashed in from the window and said urgently, “Master, it’s the Dragon Armor Legion. There are thousands of them, fully armed with magic weapons, surrounding us from all four sides.”

The Dragon Armor Legion! Emperor Han Mo had actually tracked his whereabouts? Suddenly, Qi Bei thought of the Goth caravan. It must be them, but how did they know his identity and how did they know that Emperor Han Mo was intercepting him? The thought only flashed through Qi Bei’s mind, but now was not the time to investigate.

“Give my orders. Immediately abandon the carriage goods and scatter them in the nearby residential houses. Regroup in the Sentry City. Jin Gang, Xiao Jiu, and Thirteen, the three of you come with me to attract the attention of the Dragon Armor Legion. Lie Feng, Iron Head, and Huan Ying, I leave the rest to you,” Qi Bei ordered calmly.

“Master, we can’t let you take the risk. Let us go and distract the Dragon Armor Legion,” Lie Feng along with Iron Head pleaded desperately. They could never allow Qi Bei to risk his life.

“This is an order. Execute it immediately,” Qi Bei said coldly.

“Yes, master,” Lie Feng and Iron Head trembled and quickly left with Huan Ying. Huan Ying turned her head and looked at Qi Bei, biting her lip. For the first time, she hated herself for being useless. Not only could she not help Qi Bei, but she was also a burden.

“Let’s go,” Qi Bei rushed out of the window first.

Xiao Jiu and Thirteen disappeared from the house, and Jin Gang used his strength to jump out of the window like a cannonball.

“Boom boom boom…” A row of heavily armored soldiers dressed in thick golden armor, holding golden shields in their left hands and golden swords in their right hands, armed to the teeth, were steadily pushing forward in the pouring rain with unstoppable momentum.

Behind the heavily armored soldiers were two rows of crossbowmen holding magical crossbows, followed by two mages in the back.

“Qi Bei Nord is here!” Qi Bei jumped out of the window and shouted, his black longsword flashing with golden light as he charged towards the frontmost Dragon Armor Legion’s soldier. Qi Bei’s call immediately attracted the attention of the other Dragon Armor soldiers in different directions. He did this to let the others escape safely.

Emperor Han Mo wanted to block him but didn’t care about the others.

Qi Bei’s golden battle qi hit the heavily armored soldier, and immediately the soldier’s golden head armor and chest armor split open, revealing his frightened face. Blood slowly trickled down his forehead.

Then two screams followed, and two black shadows flashed by. The two mages in the back were already dismembered.

“Launch the magic net.” A captain of the Dragon Armor Legion shouted. The crossbowmen around raised their magical crossbows, and suddenly, a hail of arrows shot into the air, interweaving into a huge magic net that was meant to trap Qi Bei.

“You want to trap me with such trash magic?” Qi Bei sneered and suddenly fused his internal energy with his battle qi, striking the magic net in midair. With a “sizzle,” a crack opened in the magic net, but it immediately began to recover.

At this moment, Jin Gang charged up with fierce momentum and inserted both his hands into the gap of the magic net. In an instant, his two arms swelled to twice their size, and huge mysterious power flowed through the blood vessels that twisted around.

“Roar…” Jin Gang roared up to the sky, pulling the magic net apart on both sides, and a huge opening was torn out. Qi Bei rushed out of the crack in an instant, but his body immediately stiffened, and his gaze was extremely gloomy.

At this time, more than three thousand soldiers of Dragon Armor Legion formed a huge circle, surrounding him tightly. On the other side of the circle, a man with white hair stood with his arms crossed, holding a snowy white sword that trembled slightly. The sword emitted circles of white cold light that spread out from it.
