Supreme Dragon Seal

Chapter 46: The Goths

Ming Yue quietly looked at Feng Tian who was standing in front of her. She did not regret what she had done at the engagement ceremony. She was polite to him and respected him, but obviously, he did not respect her.

She had never been to the Heavenly Mountain Peak, which she held in reverence and awe. Any of the five Holy Lands was a place that even many powerful people who had already made a name for themselves in the world wanted to enter.

However, this did not mean that she would feel inferior or humble and try to please the disciples of the sect.

Feng Tian was her fellow Senior Brother, but he only represented someone who had entered the sect earlier than her. His childish behavior yesterday had caused her to feel some disgust in her heart. She had no desire for self-important people like him to attempt to control or influence her life in any way.

“Junior sister, are you blaming me?” Feng Tian’s gloomy heart softened a bit when he saw Ming Yue’s beautiful face, and his tone became much gentler.

“I dare not,” Princess Ming Yue replied lightly.

“Junior sister, do you look down on me?” Ming Yue’s cold attitude was like a thorn that pricked his already scarred heart again.

Ming Yue did not speak, but not answering was also an implicit agreement.

In fact, what Ming Yue looked down on was Feng Tian’s immature behavior, but in Feng Tian’s eyes, what she looked down on was the fact that he, a King-grade mage, was injured by an Intermediate warrior.

“Junior sister, one day, you will see Qi Bei kneeling at my feet and begging for mercy,” Feng Tian said coldly, then turned and left.

Ming Yue shook her head lightly, waved her slender hand, and the unicorn cub playing in the distance turned into a white shadow and rushed into her arms.

………

A caravan of about two hundred people moved forward slowly in the twilight, similar to other caravans that came and went along the way. What made it different might be the guards of this caravan who were full of killing intent, walking silently with expressionless faces. Unlike the guards of other caravans who chatted and joked while walking, occasionally bursting into laughter.

“Lift up your skirt and let me see your butt. Your butt is big and round, like a ripe peach…” Inside the carriage, Qi Bei rested his head on the plump thigh of Huan Ying and held a sheepskin map in his hand, humming a tune. He seemed to be in a good mood.

Huan Ying, on the other hand, blushed as she listened. What kind of vulgar joke-like song was this shameless young master singing?

Qi Bei seemed to hear Huan Ying’s thoughts and stopped his nonsense singing, pointing his finger on the map, his eyes looking somewhat deep.

Sitting up, Qi Bei touched Huan Ying’s face, and not waiting for the little beauty to protest, he shouted, “Jin Gang.”

“What’s the matter, young master?” The thunderous voice of Jin Gang resounded from outside the carriage.

“Pass on my order: stop all forward movement and set up camp here.” Qi Bei said.

Huan Ying felt a little strange and asked, “Young master, why set up camp now? It’s not completely dark yet.”

Qi Bei chuckled and pulled open the carriage curtain. “This place has beautiful mountains and clear waters, it’s suitable for camping. Oh, there’s even a small stream. How about taking a bath with this young master?”

“No need.” Huan Ying gave Qi Bei a disdainful look.

Qi Bei jumped off the carriage and scanned the surroundings. Sure enough, this place was quite good. Several merchant caravans and some groups of pedestrians had already set up their tents along the stream, all intending to camp here.

“Lord, all the good spots have been taken. The best spot upstream is still available. Shall I go and drive them away?” Iron Head ran over and said to Qi Bei. They were now Qi Bei’s private soldiers, so the title used to address him had naturally changed. They initially addressed him as “Lord Viscount” but Qi Bei ordered them to change it to “Lord” instead. “Viscount” didn’t have the same kind of imposing authority as “Lord.”

Qi Bei struck the bald head of Iron Head and said, “Drive them away? Are we bullies? This young master is a noble scion with gentlemanly manners. Let’s go and politely ask them to give way and uphold the reputation of the Feng Family’s subordinate caravan.”

Iron Head frowned and rubbed his bald head. Wasn’t that the same as driving them away? He called on three of his brothers and headed towards the caravan camped upstream by the creek.

At this moment, Lie Feng walked up to Qi Bei and said, “My lord, that caravan is not simple. They might be from the Goth tribe.”

The Goth tribe? Qi Bei raised an eyebrow.

“Just now, I saw some Goth people going in and out of the central tents. The guards on the outskirts are probably hired by them,” Lie Feng said, his tone becoming somewhat cold and hard when he mentioned the Goths.

The Goths were descendants of the goblin race, who moved out of the Netherworld after the goblin civilization perished in the long river of history and called themselves Goths.

The appearance of the Goths had changed greatly from that of goblins and become more and more similar to that of humans. However, their yellowish pupils and pointed ears were still genetically preserved.

The Goths were sly and very intelligent. They relied on the remnants of the goblin civilization to invent many exquisite and practical items as well as some powerful weapons, which they traded with various races and gradually became stronger.

The growing Goths were not content to stay in the mountain basins of the resource-poor southern region of the Golden Leaf Empire and repeatedly invaded the borders, slowly nibbling away at the empire’s territory.

Although the Goths could not cultivate battle qi or magic, they had powerful weapons and were good at digging tunnels. In the 800-year history of the Golden Leaf Empire, countless soldiers had died at the hands of the Goths.

As a result, it took the Golden Leaf Empire five hundred years to build a golden fortress and finally block the Goths out. Currently, the Golden Leaf Empire has reached a peace agreement with the Goths and opened up trade routes, so it’s not uncommon to see Goth caravans in the Golden Leaf Empire.

However, as a soldier of the empire, Lie Feng naturally harbors a deep hatred toward the Goths.

Just then, Qi Bei saw Iron Head and his men get into a conflict with some Goth guards and knocked a few of them down before being surrounded.

“Let’s go take a look,” Qi Bei said lightly, leading Jin Gang and Lie Feng over.

Jin Gang charged forward, his two huge arms swirling around as he sent the guards surrounding Iron Head and his men flying.

“What happened?” Qi Bei asked as he walked over.

“Lord, I announced the Feng family’s name, but they didn’t buy it and instead insulted us. Damn Goths,” Iron Head said fiercely.

Qi Bei slapped his forehead. It was his own fault for reporting the wrong name. The Golden Fortress had always been guarded by the Feng family, who had been using strict measures to suppress the Goths’ development. Naturally, the Goths had a deep hatred for the Feng family.

“Let the person in charge come out and speak,” Qi Bei said coldly, exuding an imposing aura.

A Goth man looked a little panicked and glanced at Qi Bei before quickly entering the luxurious tent in the center.

Qi Bei sensed a faint killing intent and gave Lie Feng a signal with his eyes.

Lie Feng understood and discreetly gestured to his brothers in the distance, his hand behind his back.
