Chapter 395: I Have a Puppy

Fang Xing’s body was as thin as dried branches, but his blood was extremely thick and as vibrantly red as a ruby. Since he hadn’t had any food or water in the past two years of seclusion, most of the water in his blood had dried up, leaving behind only the most precious and concentrated blood containing a huge amount of power and essence that left an indescribable scent in the air.

The Golden Cores were a bit surprised to see such a thing. ‘This blood is quite rare; this child is definitely not ordinary….’ The female young master was also surprised for a few moments, and she suddenly thought that since this bastard’s blood was so rare, using it as a lure would be a great idea.

Before anyone was able to get a closer look, however, an angry dragon roar from tens of thousands of miles away shook the vast skies. A large number of peril beasts within the mountain ranges all quivered in terror, birds took off into the sky, and even these people all felt a tremble within their bodies. They looked up in unison as a feeling of fear subconsciously rose within their hearts, and those with a higher cultivation level could already sense the terrifying existence that was coming closer at an extraordinary speed from three thousand miles away.

In the distant skies, the crazed dragon thrashed its head and tail with all its might. It could sense the danger Fang Xing was in and madness had already settled into its eyes, but what made the entire scene even more absurd was the large wooden cage in its claws that was filled with a dozen fat rabbits, all huddled in one area and chewing on some green grass.

When the crazed dragon was fewer than a thousand miles away, a number of very powerful Golden Cores followed from atop their clouds. All of their faces were filled with shock and confusion; since when did the Guixu Ruins have a pure dragon? Even the Fengtian clan that was most proficient in taming peril beasts hadn’t released any news, and even more surprising was that this true dragon had come to their Hentian clan as though appearing from out of nowhere…

… and then caught a cage full of domesticated rabbits before fleeing?

Incomprehension filled the main elders and Exalts, who pushed everything they were doing aside to follow as well. The terrifying aura from this crazed dragon kept them from approaching rashly, but they still intended to follow it for a bit. “Nn?” one of the main Exalts quickly spoke with a deep voice when the dragon suddenly increased its speed, “Its speed has increased and there are signs of it becoming frantic!”

“Let us use Teleport in turns; we cannot lose it! It is indeed extremely shocking for the Guixu Ruins to have a true dragon!”

Once the Golden Cores had finished their discussion, they quickly formed into an arrow-shaped formation like a group of wild geese and continued the chase. Using Teleport typically required a great consumption of Qi and heavily strained the body, preventing it from being used in quite succession. In a formation like this, however, they would take turns in the lead, and the leader would use Teleport to bring the others through the sky so the group as a whole could use Teleport five continuous times. With this, they’d be able to keep up as long as that crazed dragon didn’t get too far ahead.

At the same time near the clear pond, the pale-faced Foundation Stage “Old Nine” had already started walking towards Fang Xing with the fourth nail in hand and a smirk on his face. “For you to take three of the Cleave Nails without even letting out a whine, you are a rather tough man….”

Fang Xing turned and smiled towards him before smiling to the female young master without saying a word. The pain he felt within his body was extremely difficult to describe, and a thin layer of sweat had already covered his forehead. Not only had those nails pierced into his flesh, but the cold Yin powers also seemed to have the power to seal one’s soul. The Yin power was trying to barge into his Sea of Consciousness to seal up his spirit, and he felt a trace of relief when he faintly sensed a crazed aura drawing closer.

As for the female young master and the three Golden Cores beside her, they were all discussing something amongst themselves with worried expressions. That violent roar, just what kind of peril beast had it come from exactly? The three Golden Cores felt something wasn’t right and suggested the young master should quickly leave, but she had much larger guts and coldly replied, “It’s probably just some kind of beast king that advanced and is howling within the forests. We are on the safe path; there shouldn’t be any problems.”

The young master turned towards Fang Xing, and although his face was pale, he seemed to be looking in a certain direction with a smile on his face. This left the young master a bit angry, and she coldly snorted, “What are you smiling about? You like the taste of these Cleave Nails?”

Fang Xing didn’t look at her and simply chuckled with chattering teeth. “That puppy of mine is coming!”

“Puppy?” The female young master was a little taken aback. The expression on Fang Xing’s face made her feel somewhat uneasy, but she was unwilling to admit her fear towards him so she turned to the pale-faced Foundation Stage cultivator who had the fourth nail in his hand and shouted, “It seems like he hasn’t had enough. You need to be faster. Once we’ve finished this task, we’ll leave!”

The pale-faced Old Nine answered her before sneering at Fang Xing. “You still have time to care so much about your puppy, is it because my special talent isn’t enough to satisfy you? Let me pin you dead first, then I’ll cook your puppy for dessert….” As he spoke, he thrust the next nail viciously into Fang Xing’s chest, deeper than the ones before, but Fang Xing didn’t seem to feel any pain; he simply looked off into the distance with gleaming eyes and replied, “When it’s here, I doubt you’d be able to cook it anyways!”

Another abrupt dragon roar suddenly shook the earth. A purple lightning bolt abruptly struck through the white clouds above, and the once-bright day suddenly dimmed as the clouds turned grey. Everyone looked up with surprise as a slit opened up amidst the grey clouds and something massive came charging down with a loud, thunderous sound.

The female young master and her men were all dumbstruck and none dared to move; only the three Golden Cores let out a loud “No!” before flying over to guard the young master. Once the grey clouds had parted, they could see very clearly that it was a true dragon over thirty feet long, and even though it was a hundred or so feet away even still, the murderous intent in its bloody red eyes was all too clear—particularly when it saw Fang Xing bleeding inside the cage. The dragon immediately roared and rushed downwards just like a dog that had happened to see their master in danger, but this “dog” was far larger.

“A dragon…. It’s actually a dragon….”

“Since when did the Guixu Ruins have a dragon? Isn’t that a top-tier peril beast?”

Amidst these astonished words, the red dragon swooped down and landed with a thud that shook the nearby mountain ranges and formed a giant pit. Inside the pit were the poor rabbits and two men who’d had the misfortune of becoming minced meat, and before the other men had the chance to flee, the red-eyed dragon violently thrashed its tail and smashed four or five of the others into minced meat as well before sending them flying off into the distance.

“Quick, run!” the three Golden Cores shouted in terror. They formed their clouds to take the female young master and flee, but they were pushed down by the red dragon’s claw before they even managed to rise ten feet into the air. The Golden Cores used their core light to defend against it, but the red dragon was an existence with the power to fight Golden Cores at full mastery, whereas these were nothing more than Golden Cores who could barely keep themselves alive; how could they defend themselves?

The Golden Cores’ core lights dimmed and all three of them were slammed down by the red dragon’s claw like broken kites. The two Golden Cores in the front were as dead as dead could be with dozens of holes all over their bodies oozing out blood, while the female young master and the yellow-clothed cultivator who were slightly behind had managed to survive. Their expressions were both filled with panic and their bodies were heavily wounded.

It had to be said not even three full breaths had passed from the moment the dragon landed and when these people were finished. It was like a vicious tiger that had found itself inside a herd of sheep.

Just as that female young master was about to faint from the red dragon’s crazed aura, a lazy voice rose up to say, “Good doggy, come and free your master here….” She looked towards where the voice had come from and saw Fang Xing. She was puzzled at first, but the red dragon moved closer towards him with a claw raised high only to draw it down ever so softly, causing the cage that was used to imprison peril beasts to shatter into pieces with nothing more than a light pat. Fang Xing himself inside the cage didn’t receive any damage and—despite the four nails still inside him—slowly stood up.

“His puppy….” The female young master suddenly recalled Fang Xing’s words, and she was filled with so much surprise she nearly fainted.

The “puppy” he’d mentioned before was actually this true dragon?

Before she was able to react from this shock, Fang Xing turned around to look at her. Without showing any expression or even pulling the nails from his body, he walked closer ever so slowly, causing the young master to feel so terrified she felt bile rising into her throat. She couldn’t help but retch a bit, and her eyes looked up towards Fang Xing filled with fear and a plea for forgiveness.

Fang Xing showed no expression as he moved towards her. The young master’s fear only grew further, and her thin, pale fingers dug into the mud beside her.

When Fang Xing arrived in front of her, he revealed a hand that was as thin as burnt branches, causing the young master to tense up and nearly faint once again. The yellow-clothed cultivator was lying nearby and shouted in shock, “Please calm down, please don’t hurt the young master. This is within the territory of the Hentian Clan; do you really intend to become the enemy of one of the most powerful clans within the Guixu Ruins?” The man yelled with all his might, but whether it was because his wounds were too heavy or he was cleverly pretending to be too heavily wounded, he didn’t actually dare come up to stop what was happening.

Fang Xing didn’t even seem to even hear his words, however, and his hand still moved downward. The young master let out a high-pitched shriek, and Fang Xing’s hand grasped a piece of roasted meat covered in dirt and grass in the firepit beside her before he raised it to his mouth and took a bite. He barely even chewed before swallowing and tearing off another chunk, and he didn’t even wait to finish his mouthful before declaring, “I am so f*cking hungry!”
