Chapter 379: The Moon-Chasing Dragon

The Shanbao Mountain Treasure next to the wall was truthfully a giant mountain, which naturally made it impossible for anyone to move it unless the person who placed the spell on the treasure personally resolved it. The person who placed the spell likely didn’t imagine Fang Xing would have a bead so closely tied to the Dragon clan, nor that resolving the spell would be as easy for him as simply turning his own hand.

Beneath the extremely heavy Shanbao Mountain Treasure was a gear that would trigger whenever the mountain was removed, causing a hidden door on the wall to reveal itself and open. Behind the door was a cavern estate of the water clans with a simple layout, with a cauldron, a small pond, and some shelves for manuals. There was nothing else beyond that, making it look like nothing more than a room a cultivator had stayed in for many years while diligently focusing on their studies.

Fang Xing was trying to find the second treasure, so he reflexively looked into the cave estate. As he did so, he saw the lightning-struck Fusang Wood floating in the air above a clear pond covered in a thin layer of frost.

Fang Xing was extremely satisfied ‘I didn’t even have to try that hard to find it….’After glancing around the cave and seeing there weren’t any restrictive spells and formations, he let out a sigh of relief and snatched the Fusang Wood into his hands. To him, this treasure was even more valuable than the Shanbao Mountain Treasure; the latter was only a weapon that was rather unwieldy, but this Fusang Wood was a treasure that had gone from extreme Yang to extreme Yin and had many unique effects on cultivation.

Fang Xing was more than satisfied after finding these two treasures, so he decided he could now leave the Colored Palace at ease. The moment he grabbed the Fusang wood into his hands, however, spiderweb-like cracks began to spread through the frost covering the water’s surface. With the wood removed, the frozen pond began to crack and melt at an extremely fast rate, and it didn’t take long before steam began to rise up all along the edges as though something extremely hot was just beneath the surface.

Fang Xing flinched and hugged his Fusang Wood close while jumping three feet away. He stretched his neck to watch the absurdity in front of him, and once the steam had dissipated, he saw a black figure at the center of the pond with a full crown of hair. When the water cleared, he suddenly realized a person had been sealed within the ice and was seated cross-legged inside the pond.

It was the third “treasure” of the Colored Glass Palace….

The Dragon King’s daughter!

Fang Xing would never have guessed the Dragon King’s daughter would be seated inside a frozen pond without a single scrap of clothing. Her eyes were tightly shut and a thin layer of sweat formed on her forehead amidst a red-flushed face and shivering body. Even the pond had become slightly heated as a result.

Fang Xing was sent into a fright. He’d been worrying about alarming the dragon girl the entire time he’d been plundering her treasures, yet he ran into her just as he was about to call it a day. He reflexively showed an awkward smile and greeted her as though they’d just met out on the streets, “Oh, it’s the eldest princess. You’re still not asleep?”

Although the dragon girl’s breathing had clearly become heavy and she noticed Fang Xing’s presence, she did not speak.

Fang Xing laughed after his greeting. “Haha, haha… the night is so long and I couldn’t sleep, so I’m here for a stroll. You… continue what you were doing….” With that, he slowly retreated three feet away with the treasures still in hand before he abruptly turned to flee. It was at that moment he suddenly heard the furious shout of the dragon girl behind him, “Stupid brat…!”

Rumble !

An extremely cold and chaotic power rushed out from the stone cave behind Fang Xing, like a tidal wave that could stretch across all of the heavens and earth to instantly drown him. It filled the vault like a squall, and it was as though a giant enraged dragon was snapping out with its head and tail while rushing towards the Colored Glass Palace itself. After some time had passed, the power’s light burst out like smoke and shot straight up into the sky.

The vast sky had originally been covered in thick clouds that covered the clear skies, moons, and winds in an aura of obscenity, but the sky had returned to its usual clarity ever since Fang Xing stole all of the Flames of Desire. There was a bright moon and silver stars overhead when the light shot up into the sky, and the illusion of a silvery-white dragon over a hundred feet long appeared on top of the clouds as it swam towards the moon.

Such a strange and absurd scene. It was extremely difficult to fathom its power, and countless creatures and beasts within the ocean all bowed as one when they noticed such a sight.

On a night with a bright moon and very few stars, such a sight could even be seen tens of thousands of miles away. It was only natural the cultivators on the surrounding islands were alerted as well, and they were all so surprised by the might and power of such a giant dragon they even left their seclusions to watch.

Some of the more knowledgeable cultivators creased their brows as they spectated from afar. “A moon-chasing dragon? Why would this place have such a scene as a moon-chasing dragon?”

“Teacher, what is a moon-chasing dragon?” a young disciple asked the hemp-robed elderly man nearby, both of them around six thousand miles away from the Colored Glass Palace.

The elderly hemp-robed cultivator sighed before replying, “The moon-chasing dragon is a sight from the Dragon clan, similar to the menarche of females for human tribes. When a female dragon turns thirty-three years old and becomes an adult, every three years, their full Yin will rise and shoot up into the sky as a red shadow of a dragon chasing the moon, hence why it is called a ‘moon-chasing dragon’. The ancient scripts call it ‘moon-chasing red dragon’, and the humans borrowed this term once upon a time as well by calling the monthly menstrual cycles of human females as a ‘red dragon’.”

The young disciple was a little taken aback and muttered to himself, “Isn’t the Dragon King’s daughter just on her period? What’s so great about that?”

The hemp-robed cultivator smacked the young disciple atop the head. “You shouldn’t know what I’m talking about; you should’ve been spending your time learning something more proper!”

The little disciple was aggrieved at being hit. “It’s just the menstrual cycle of someone from the Dragon clan, so what’s an old man like you looking at it for?”

The hemp-robed cultivator lightly sighed. “It’s only similar to the menstruation of human women. Truthfully, it is the sight of her pure Yin rising up into the sky and the sign a female dragon is seeking a husband. In other words, only a female dragon with completely untouched Yin would cause such a scene, and it would no longer occur once the purity of their Yin was broken! From the times of the ancient Dragon clan in the past all the way to the Dragon Palace today, they use this to test the purity of a dragon princess to see if they’ve abstained. In the Azure Seas, such a sight displays how pure a dragon princess’s Yin body and blood is, demonstrating eligibility to become the next Dragon Master!”

The young disciple didn’t seem to pay much attention to the hemp-robed cultivator and simply nodded while focusing on something else. “Ah, so that means the dragon girl’s blood is very pure and she has a pure bod— sh*t, she’s actually a virgin?”

Even the young disciple had realized this, so the hemp-robed cultivator didn’t hide anything anymore and let out a low sigh. “After being banished from the Azure Seas, the dragon girl moved to the Thousand Streams Sea and began holding the Red Convention every year. This time every year, the aura of obscenity would rise up to cover the skies, so I thought she had an improper temperament and saw her as a disaster for the southern seas. Yet who would have imagined she’d been trying to cover this up? She is definitely after something big….”

The young disciple still didn’t give up. “Dear Teacher, isn’t that dragon girl the master of the Red Convention? How could she be…?”

The hemp-robed cultivator showed a faint smile. “What other reason could there be? It’s all for the sake of competing for the crown. The Dragon clan of the Azure Seas is extremely proud of their manners and righteousness, so a promiscuous person wouldn’t be eligible for the great treasure of the Dragon clan. This person who was banished from the Azure Seas is someone who tried her best to ruin her name, yet she was hiding the truth about the purity of her Yin body using this Red Convention. She must naturally be looking for an opportunity to return to the Azure Seas!”

Before the elderly cultivator had fully finished, a cloud flew close from a nearby island carrying another old cultivator. When he saw this hemp-robed elder, he cupped his hands from afar and called out, “Fellow Daoist Qingyao, it appears more will be happening in the southern seas after the occurrence of this moon-chasing dragon!”

The hemp-robed cultivator softly sighed once more. “I heard not long ago that the old Dragon King of the Azure Seas is very sick and his days are nearing their end. He has a total of eight children that are eligible for his position who have been fighting rather intensely, and even the Azure Seas has nearly been closed off. For the moon-chasing dragon to appear at such a critical moment is the same as adding another competitor for the crown, and it all happened in our southern seas; is this not trying to cause more problems for us? Except… for the dragon girl to hide this for so many years without hesitating to smear dirt over her own name, she is clearly afraid of something if she was willing to tolerate it to this degree. Why would she not wait until the old Dragon King had passed to make her move? Why would she show herself at a time like this?”

The visiting old cultivator replied, “Perhaps she has her own plans! Aii, first it was the Mysterious Domain, then the chaos of Jambu, and now the trouble in the Azure Seas is on the verge of erupting as well. The demons of the western Godaniya are always scheming something, and even the beasts of the northern Kulu have started to show movement. From the looks of it, the four continents of Tianyuan that have been peacefully coexisting are beginning to show signs of a great chaos on the horizon. For people like us who have been absent from such worldly matters… what course should we follow from there…?”

“Let us not worry about that for now,” the hemp-robed cultivator answered. “Just seal the island and quietly cultivate for the time being. Since this scene was so obvious, I’m afraid people from the Azure Seas will soon arrive.”

The moon-chasing dragon hadn’t remained in the sky for very long before it disappeared. The cultivators of the southern seas merely thought the dragon girl had discovered and used some kind of secret spell to cover it up, so they weren’t too concerned with its disappearance and continued chatting with each other. They speculated about why this eldest princess of the Azure Seas who’d been abandoned wouldn’t hesitate to tarnish her name and would even use the Red Convention to help cover up such a thing. What exactly was her purpose?

However, no one knew that within the Colored Glass Palace, the dragon girl had currently fallen into madness….

Fang Xing was panic-stricken and wanted to flee, but the dragon girl pulled him back with great anger and her golden core stage cultivation suppressed him completely, leaving him completely unable to fight back. Her expression was filled with pain and madness while both of her hands grasped onto Fang Xing, and the gold-colored pupils showed hints of bloodiness as though she were trying to suppress something within her. After some time had passed, she could finally no longer suppress it—

“Little bastard….” The dragon girl’s voice was filled with endless hatred and bitterness. “Sixty-four years of hardship and suffering, all destroyed by your hands in a single moment….” With that, two clear trails of tears began to roll down her perfect face.

Fang Xing was frightened and wanted to use the technique the lotus girl had taught him in order to stop the dragon girl or fight back somehow, but it was all to no avail. “Oi, oi, I’ll give them back to you then. Don’t get stirred up, let’s sit down and discuss everything over some tea first….” He shouted at first, but his words quieted down halfway.

The dragon girl suddenly looked down at him with resentment.

“Let’s just talk this over nicely!” Fang Xing shouted, “Don’t bite m—” but his mouth was suddenly blocked and his muffled voice was caught inside.

The dragon girl didn’t bite him. She kissed him full on the lips with so much strength Fang Xing’s eyes widened in fright.
