Chapter 20: Punching and more punches

Chapter 20: Punching and more punches

When the monster charged again, Rebecca slowed down the beast with Ice Arrow, the last few that she could fire. Terry used that chance to attack and used Deadly Jump. Just as he had expected, he reached the height of the enemy's head and swung his weapon, but the creature the attack with its left arm...

The blade of the spear cut the flesh of the beast, but only a couple of centimeters, and that was nothing for a beast of that size... The monster hissed and then tried to smash Terry with its other arm, but Rebecca made a fireball explode in the enemy's face. That bought Terry a single second, which he used to kick the enemy's arm and move away while spinning in the air.

Terry clicked his tongue when he landed... even with Rebecca's support, who apparently could recover a lot of mana during a battle, that will be difficult. Still, he dashed again toward the enemy. When he got within range, the beast tried to kick him, but Terry moved away and stabbed the heel of the creature; it only pierced a few centimeters, and the sudden blast pushed him away two meters, but Terry didn't give up.

Terry recovered faster than the beast since its kick had been too long and powerful. So, he dashed again. The creature suddenly lowered its stance and tried to smash him with two arms, but a fireball exploded in its face. The monster lost sight of Terry for a moment and ended up missing. Terry used that chance to stab the right heel of the beast again... he did it with all his might, so a lot of blood gushed from the wound.

The beast turned around to hit Terry, but he had already moved away and avoided the hit. He didn't overstay his welcome...

When the beast turned around and took a step, more blood left the wound. Just another hit and Terry would damage the muscle and slow down the creature considerably. That was just a single step toward victory, but he was fine with taking things slowly...

The beast, on the other hand, wanted to end that fight as soon as possible... so it is charged with protecting its head with both arms, the back, and the front. Rebecca hit the beast with fireballs, but the damage on the back was limited...

Terry used Deadly Jump with all his might, and the beast ended up passing below him. At the same time, he swung his spear and opened a small wound on the top of the monster's skull... that bone sure was tough...

"I acted without thinking, but I guess it makes sense that even this skill can be used for mobility..." Terry thought. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

When the monster turned around and saw him, it got pissed since Terry looked completely calm... the monster was enraged, so that wasn't surprising. More blood began to gush from the wounds as if that was showing Terry that the beast was red exactly because of that... and then lowered its stance even more and charged like a bull.

Terry thought of dodging to the side, but then his body stopped... Rebecca was right behind him... he couldn't run away. In the blink of an eye, Terry assumed his stance and readied himself. Several Fireballs were fired toward the enemy's head, but he them all with his arms that were protecting its face. Still, Terry was thankful for that... after clenching his teeth with all his might, he thrust his spear forward and toward the enemy's head.

The spear pierced the enemy's arms and even reached the creature's forehead since Rebecca had damaged them. However, it hadn't been enough for Terry to kill it. The charge of the monster pushed him away and sent him flying even beyond Rebecca, that was fifty meters behind. She looked behind and saw Terry landing on the ground and then rolling on the floor.

Rebecca wondered why she was so surprised... it was only natural that a boss battle would be that hard. Usually, more than twenty-five people would challenge a boss in order to get the dungeon. There was no shame in using such tactics against those massive beasts...

Rebecca thought that Terry was invincible since he always fought with plenty of room to change his fighting style... but even that had a limit. When Rebecca turned around to attack the monster, she saw the beast trembling in pain while blood was falling from its forehead. Terry's spear cracked the monster's skull, and now the creature was paying the price for it... while grunting in pain.

"That hurt..." Terry said while passing near Rebecca.

"What... are you alright?" Rebecca asked.

"The spear got stuck on the enemy's arm. That was why I didn't receive the full power of the attack," Terry explained. "I would have hit the walls if that were the case... I still feel like crap, though. Anyway, keep attacking. I am going to finish off the monster now."

Rebecca thought that Terry was daydreaming. He also looked like crap since his nose and ears were bleeding. Another attack of that level surely would turn him into a pancake. Still, she decided to follow what he said and bombarded the enemy with her remaining mana.

The arms of the beast got even more damage, and the grunts of the creature spread across the area. Meanwhile, Terry moved to the side while glaring at the beast. When their eyes met, Terry fixed his broken nose and then increased the grip on the weapon.

All of a sudden, Terry charged at the monster, and the creature got up while ignoring the pain. The beast began to run while ignoring Rebecca as well and tried to kick Terry, but then he used Deadly Jump...

The red giant protected its face with both arms since it didn't have any other choice, and the burn marks were slashed by the spear... still, things didn't end there... Terry threw the spear into the hole in the right arm of the monster, and the weapon pierced through it again before hitting the enemy's skull.

Terry didn't get lucky enough to make his weapon also reach the wound in the forearm, but that didn't matter. He punched the butt of the spear with all his might and made the weapon pierce the enemy's skull...
