NPC into Player: Let's Wreck This Game

Chapter 57: Shrine of Death Blessing

Bloom re-read this description more than once, and he finally believed his eyes! He had a strange class, mixed between four factions together, which meant this was really an OP class!

"So, I'm encouraged by the system to cause damage here?" he didn't understand this point, as that was the only explanation he had from what he just read!

The game was encouraging him to act berserk and wreak havoc here, and even he would be awarded by that!

There was a list of quests available to his class, but he didn't open this for now, as he decided to wait until he goes to the village and starts using his class for real.

The next thing he did was to examine the skill and talent tree of his new class. As he expected, his old skills and talents were still viable to use, and he even could unlock any talent of the four factions, or select talents belonging exclusively for his class.

As he started reading, he was surprised to find all of the skills provided to him were all merged skills. Despite that being something good, it had its drawbacks as well. He now couldn't open any of them as he didn't have enough SP for that!

The cheapest skill here required ten Sp points to be unlocked! He had already wasted most of his Sp points during merging his skills, and now he had no much left for him!

The only good news was that each level he could gain two Sp points, not one. That meant he could easily unlock at least one of these skills after gaining three levels by most, but now he couldn't level up here, as the level of monsters was already much lower than his.

The same thing went for the talent tree of his class, as it required ten Tps at least to open one talent. He had to wait, as he would gain two Tps with each level he gained.

Right now, he had other matters to take care of. He opened his character profile, and was depressed to find the stats and free points available to him were still per his old system.

"So it only works from the next levels?" he muttered, as he allocated his free points to his Vit and Str equally. He gained two levels, and that meant he had six points to distribute. He put three to Vit, and three to Str, before closing his character profile, and went through the system alerts again.

He had two system alerts to attract his attention, as he reopened them and started reading them again.

"System alert: Player has received the blessing of the death shrine as a reward."

"System alert: Player has received a map to the secret shrine of death mainland as a reward."

"So, I was cursed by the death shrine and got a blessing of it as well?" he muttered, before reopening his character profile, to find a blessing of the death shrine there. "Show the blessing details," he muttered, with a confused expression over his face.

"Blessing of the shrine of death: Tier one blessing. Player has the ability to absorb the death souls. Each one hundred death souls will be stilled to form a single death drop."

The details of this blessing wasn't that much, and Bloom didn't know what death drop even meant, but at least he was happy with more benefits coming from this shrine that cursed him.

"It seems I will turn into a vampire absorbing all the death souls of players in the game," he evilly smirked as he closed this alert and opened his inventory to retrieve an old, tattered looking piece of parchment that was rolled with a seal over it. He tried to open it but he couldn't, so he investigated its details.

"Map to the secret shrine of death main land: a gateway to the sealed death lands. Requires one hundred death drops to be opened."

His eyes suddenly shone, as now he had one use for these death drops. He put the map back, and despite now knowing what it meant as these sealed death lands, he had heard on many occasions about hidden lands full of treasures in this game.

"Good, good, I can now kill all the players I meet with clear conscience," he muttered with an evil expression over his face. He was so excited and now he had the urge to go out there and start killing players.

He was now ready to start his death souls hunting spree. He had his stats halved by the curse, but he was now a monster to other players. the level difference alone would be enough to kill any player with one, up to two strikes only.

"I lack an AOE skill, I have to find one in the new skill tree," he muttered, reminding himself of his lacking skill. if he had an AOE skill, then he would turn into a killing machine!

He then exited his hiding place, and started to venture back towards the place where players were at. He had no player in sight for half an hour, as it seemed all of them already dispersed after the end of his epic battle.

Bloom didn't know this battle was recorded by many players, and already uploaded on the forums for a long time, causing a huge stir there.

He didn't know that this battle was considered as a classic, as many started to speculate how he appeared out of nowhere, after dying by the skill of the NPC of the life shrine, and how he managed to kill the two elders in this dramatic way.

His fighting style was now considered a legend, as many players started to question his stats and level, considering him a living legend of achieving the impossible.

The forums were now a battlefield between his supporters and his haters, with haters being much more than his supporters. He was now the main spot of envy for many players, with all of them trying to attack and tarnish his reputation.

As for his supporters, they tried to apply for his agency, but they were shocked to find that it was temporarily blocked. They couldn't access it, or even apply to join like before.

Those who were part of it were now regretting their previous decision to withdraw, all except for one.
