My Wife Is A Secret Assassin

Chapter 59: If She Knows The Truth

"Sure sir, please take care and all the best, I am sure you will deal with those terrorists well." Chance wished him luck and he quietly left the place with Samantha.

Chance held her hand and they walked away.

"You are a good liar" Samantha praised him as for a second she herself believed everything Chance said and couldn't see through his lie at all, he was a very good actor is what she thought.

Chance was embarrassed for a moment, he wondered what she will do if she knows the truth, what he said till date are mostly all lies, "Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment. Where is your car?" He wanted to change this topic.

Samantha then led him to her car and they drove away with Samantha driving the car and he sat next to her.

"So? You actually came here to have dinner with me or you decided to ditch me but came here after seeing the news?" Chance questioned her; he knew the latter was true but yet he was happy that she at least showed up but he didn't want to let go of a chance to pull her leg.

"Why should I answer you?"

Chance smiled when he heard her reply as he could see how awkward she was, "Let me guess what happened. You decided to not show up but then you saw the news but you got so worried about me that you didn't check the time of attack and came over for me." He perfectly deduced what must have happened

Samantha was surprised with his deduction and she replied, "Nonsense. I planned to come for dinner but I got late as I lost time and the cops told me that there was an attack so I just came to the back side to check the situation."

Chance knew she was lying but he again asked, "Oh, really?" as he planned to tease her even more if she says yes and just as he expected she answered in affirmation.

"I am glad you decided to have dinner with me." Chance smiled at her and could see through her lie. He knew she showed up because she was worried for him.

"Yeah, I had to as I wanted to clear a few things."

"Oh, what are those few things?" Chance raised his eyebrows and looked at her side-profile as she was seriously driving, she was very pretty is what he thought to himself when her next words interrupted his thoughts.

"I already have a boyfriend"

Chance wanted to laugh when he heard her words, he knew Danger-Ace is not dating anyone and, in the information, he received it was said she was currently single and her past relationship statuses were not known to him and he anyway didn't care about it.

He didn't say a word and kept smiling at her as he understood she is trying to get rid of him by using silly excuses.

Getting no reaction from him she turned her head to look at him and he was smiling at her. She again turned back and focused on driving.

"Why are you smiling?" She sounded angry.

"If you have a boyfriend, why were you holidaying in Hawaii alone?"

"We two just decided to have some fun alone to realize each other's value."

Chance laughed loudly at her explanation as no couple behave like this and he realized that there was a possibility that Samantha never dated anyone ever before.

"What is so funny?"

"Oh god Samantha, you have never been in a relationship, right?"

"What nonsense, of course I have been in many relationships." She looked embarrassed as he saw through her lie.

"You absolutely look inexperienced and the excuses you are giving are so silly that no one would believe you."

"I am telling you the truth"

"Fine, can I meet him?" Chance wanted to see what she would say.

"He is not in town"

He started laughing as this woman is really not good with excuses.

"I am not lying" Samantha tried to convince him.

"Samantha you are the worst liar in this world."

He then saw a good restaurant and decided to use this opportunity to have dinner with her.

"Can you stop there?" He asked pointing at a restaurant.

"Why?"

"I am very hungry"

"Oh"

Samantha parked her vehicle outside the restaurant.

"Would you like to join me?"

"Well…" Seeing her hesitation he tried to use reverse psychology on her

"Or you are scared and controlled by your boyfriend, so you won't come?"

But Samantha too was trained in all of this so she didn't budge and instead she questioned him, "Earlier you didn't believe I had a boyfriend, now you do?"

"I still don't believe it but if that is what you want me to believe, I will" His words had an underlying meaning to his words, he hinted to her that if she ever decides to lie to him and want him to believe that lie then he will happily do that.

Something really stuck Samantha when she heard his words and she froze at her place, she couldn't understand her feeling but it was very weird.

Chance realized what he did so he softly called her to interrupt her thought process, "Samantha?"

"Let's have dinner" Saying this she got out the car as she too felt weird and didn't want to think much about it. He was happy and the two settled at a table which was on the corner of the hotel, there was privacy and from there they could see the big television which was hung on the wall opposite to them.

There they saw the news that the terrorists were already caught.

"Wow, already?" Samantha was impressed when she saw the news.

"What already? They were trying to get in and were planning a strategy since 7:05 pm and finally it worked.

"How do you know?"

"I was there only, remember?"

"Oh yeah why were you there for so long instead of leaving immediately?"

'Fuck' Chance cursed himself as now he has to tell the truth but he chose his words strategically.

"I was worried about you" He seriously answered her.

"Me?"

"Hmm, what if you came late and didn't see the news or after knowing I was there what if you came for me, so I was waiting there for you, just in case."

"Why were you waiting at the back side then?"

"The cops didn't let me stay at the front side and then I thought what if they won't let you in what would you do and I predicted you would go to the back side and therefore I was waiting there."

"Why the fuck do you talk like you know me well?"

"Because I know you well" Chance decided to be honest with her and see her reaction as he actually knew her very well.

"No, you don't" Samantha looked angry.

"Why would you think so?"

"We just met a week back"

'Yeah, right' he thought but said, "So?"

"It is not enough to know someone"

"That is not a universal thing"

"What is not a universal thing?"

"That a day is not enough to know someone, etc. There are people who spend years with each other and they still don't know each other well and at times it takes a moment to realize who is the one for you."

"Excuse me, what the hell do you mean?"

Samantha realized his true feelings and since she did Chance had no intentions to hide what he feels for her as after all that was why he came here so he just decided to be honest.

"I love you Samantha and I want to ma…" 'Marry you' was what he wanted to say but Samantha understood it and she interrupted him.

"Shut up, don't complete that statement."

She looked like she is going to freak out.

Chance calmed himself down as he was expecting this, no one would be fine if someone they just met recently would ask her for marriage, he was aware of his actions, so he apologized, "I am sorry, I didn't mean to freak you out."

"But you are, we spent a few hours and you are talking about love and the 'M-word'? Do you even realize what you are saying?"

"I am really sorry Samantha, what I am trying to say is, I felt a very strong feeling towards you and to be honest I felt you too felt something strong during that short period."

Chance was very sincere and Samantha could see through it. He wanted to talk his heart out as he was frustrated this last week where he had to keep everything to himself.

"I didn't have any strong feelings, you are wrong."

Chance chuckled when he heard her words as he could see she was lying, maybe her feelings were not that deep but he knew she too had some strong feelings for him, he felt that with her.
