My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar

Chapter 224: Invitation for blessing

The messenger bowed towards Yun Jhin before taking out a sealed envelope from his clothes, the ink seal was of bright azure color and it had the insignia of the imperial household of it which meant the letter came from someone from the household but below the Emperor.

It seemed Yun Jhin's assumptions were incorrect, at first he thought that he would be summoned by the Emperor, but how could the Emperor bother with a small family from the country?

The central area could be considered the place full of cities and the eastern, northern, southern, and western sides were all 'villages' in the eyes of those from the central area. However the messenger surprisingly didn't look down on Yun Jhin or anything like that, he actually looked at him with a respect filled gaze which showed that even though they were considered villagers they were respected for their guarding jobs.

Yun Jhin cracked the seal open before he opened the letter and started to read:

"Estimated lord Lin Duritz, for the occasion of being appointed as the house lord of the Lin family the imperial family had decided to hold a blessing ceremony for you so you can protect the celestial realm's borders even better than before, please sign your current cultivation base on the letter as it would help us prepare for your blessing with the right ingredients and resources." Signed the imperial household's butler Li Shiki

"Hmm, interesting..."

The messenger got up from his bowing position as he said:

"Lord Lin Duritz, if you want to accept the invitation you can travel with me back to the capital as I can guide you the best on the road, you can also take 2 or 3 aides with you, what do you say?"

Yun Jhin made a 'hmmm' sound as he thought about it seriously then asked:

"Will I get to meet the Emperor?"

The messenger shook his head as he said seriously:

"While you are doing a great job ensuring the safety of the celestial realm's borders the Emperor is a very busy man who doesn't have time to see even his closest kin, unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to meet with his highness but you can meet with his highness children and grandchildren if you want to."

Yun Jhin nodded, it was the best situation, refusing the invitation meant slapping the face of the imperial family or going among the lines of "I do not need your kindness." This could either offend them or in the best situation just make them resent him and cut off support from the eastern guardian family.

Both were things that wouldn't end up well for the current Yun Jhin until he took over at least one other family the monthly support coming from the central region was imperative to keep his army fully functional, most of the rarer resources in the treasury came from the support of the empire, they were the pay for the family's hard work.

Actually, the 5 families had the easiest jobs in the whole empire as no one could enter the celestial realm... of course, this changed the moment Yun Jhin put his foot on the land of the celestial realm.

"Get your aides and let's leave immediately Lord Lin Duritz, the faster we get to the capital the faster you can get your blessing."

Yun Jhin nodded as he decided to get his 'sister' and Lin Lang with him, they were the most 'familiar' with him and they were both quite obvious choices.

So Yun Jhin and his 'friends' started to travel towards the capital.

It would be a lie to say that Yun Jhin didn't enjoy the scenery of the celestial realm, unlike the cold and rather dead mortal realm, the celestial realm wasn't separated by huge empty patches of the galaxy.

The celestial realm was filled with picturesque images consisting of beautiful green mountain ranges, long winding rivers filled with carps and other multitudes of colorful fishes, forests filled with gorgeous and cute animals.

On the way to the capital, they had gone through quite a lot of these sceneries and Yun Jhin admired them, he liked the flora and fauna of the celestial realm, not only because it was beautiful, but because it was all beneficial towards cultivation!

From all of the things, he had seen up till now 90% of them would be useful for a God Realm expert or below, even though it wouldn't be useful for him, they would be useful for those in the early stages which meant he would be able to nurture a death squad of God experts!

Even though the cultivators in the celestial realm were more numerous when it came to God Realm experts it was obvious that they didn't have the same experience and battle power as the ones from the mortal realm, so if he used the resources of the celestial realm on his people in the mortal realm he would create an army that would slowly but surely take over the celestial realm!

Owning a realm meant owning its destiny and the celestial realm was the closest to breaking through the ties of the universe... if he could control this realm, he would surely be able to break through above the God Realm even if he didn't get his hands on the core of the universe!

If he realized how the breakthrough could happen in the mortal realm it meant that other peak God Realm experts must have as well, so it was unknown which path was better to take, fight the more numerous but relatively weaker celestial population or the lower in amount but stronger mortal population?

There was the obvious choice... the Celestial Emperor was a pain in his sides at the moment but he must have a weakness of some sort just like Hell's willpower, he was a creation of the universe as well since he was as old as Hell's willpower.

The arrival at the capital didn't trigger any waves as Yun Jhin and his aides were given a few rooms in the outer courts of the imperial palace, then they were told to wait there for a few short minutes as the messenger had to report their arrival.

After a few minutes of waiting the messenger came back and invited Yun Jhin alone in the throne room. While the Celestial Emperor was in seclusion the throne room would be occupied by his oldest son, Markus Oldio Castrono The 3rd.

Yun Jhin entered the throne room of the palace which spanned 5 meters in height and 20 meters in width, the palace itself was around 60 meters tall and it was painted a beautiful baby blue color with inscribing and paintings of different battles being depicted on its inner walls.

Yun Jhin kneeled in front of the prince who was casually sitting on the throne, however, the prince immediately got up with a puzzled expression on his face as he helped Yun Jhin up and said:

"You don't have to kneel in front of me I'm not my father and I'm not sure if I will ever become emperor in my life, I invited you here as a friend and not as a superior as changes in the familial hierarchy happen very rarely, I also heard from your people that you have been kidnapped to the mortal realm for quite a long time before you came back and I thought that it would be helpful for you and your family if you got blessed by the imperial destiny."

The man smiled as he slapped Yun Jhin's shoulder and laughed boisterously:

"After all, you must protect the borders from any invasions that could happen! It's unlikely that the mortal realm netizens would be able to break through the formation of the gate entrance in their whole existence but it's better to have defenders and be prepared! At least that's what my father says, anyways the blessing ceremony will be prepared in a few hours so why don't we take a tour of the capital and the palace?"

Yun Jhin smiled and nodded as he said:

"Sure why not, Even though I have just regained my memories I remember never visiting the capital nor the palace so I guess it would be a novel experience."

"Oh, you have lost your memories before? That's sad to hear but I'm glad you got them back, anyways let's go, I shall be your tour guide! Who else would know the capital and the palace better than the highest echelons?"

As Yun Jhin interacted and visited both the capital and some of the palace's interior rooms he realized what type of person this prince was, it wouldn't have mattered if he refused his invitation as he was one of those very very good people, he was the embodiment of naivety and pureness and he got the look on him as well, he had a baby face and blue eyes, blonde curly hair and he wore an azure robe that wrapped his dainty body, he looked both feminine and the peak of handsome masculinity at the same time.

Yun Jhin actually got sick of how the man acted, he wasn't even faking it, he was a genuinely good guy!

Yun Jhin hated good guys the most, they were the most sheltered people, the people that had gone through no bits of pain nor challenges, it was obvious from his gaze that the man didn't know what pain or loss was, the man didn't know about the struggle of the weak and poor, he was a good noble that would act well regardless of those that were in front of him... but he didn't think much about those below him, while he would act if he would see something going wrong, he would never proactively do something to make things better.

He was good but only on the surface... but he was genuine.

Yun Jhin saw countless people like him but they were very insidious inside, at least he was only half-full as the other part of him felt empty like he wasn't complete.

He found it to be rather strange... was something wrong with this guy?

He started to get second thoughts about the blessing but in the end decided to go with it anyway, at this point unless the Emperor himself came, he would have no problems to deal with or escape from 9th stair God Realm cultivators, especially the ones from the celestial realm.

The prince nodded to himself as he looked towards Yun Jhin and said:

"The preparations are finally complete and we can go to do the ceremony, do you need to do anything before we start, or are you ready to go?"

"Well, could you inform the aides that traveled with me about what is going to happen?"

"Yeah no problem, we don't want to worry them now do we?"

The man clapped and a previously invisible black dove appeared and took the message telepathically from Yun Jhin then flew away to send it to Lin Lang and Lin Luan.

"Let's go then."

"We shall."

Prince Markus took the lead as he slowly went through a few layers of the palace going further and further down until they reached the underground area, where he opened up a hatch and they both went down it, there was darkness everywhere but there was one light to guide them towards the ceremonial table....

There Yun Jhin found out what this ceremonial fuss was all about...
