Chapter 56: Why don't you buy a healing potion?

Just when the young man was about to reach his hand to hold Rebecca's hand, suddenly, he felt his surroundings turning cold. At the moment he felt as if some kind of beast was gazing at him viciously, which made his body shiver.

With trembling body, he slowly turned towards Ayaan. When he saw his dark black eyes, he felt as he had fallen into the deepest part of the glacier. Only now did he realise that he had provoked the wrong person.

He was just a worthless scion from a noble family and knew nothing about Ayaan's strength. That was the reason he came here after hearing about Rebecca. He thought it would be easy to take down a measly shopkeeper.

Ayaan looked at the young man, and a deep sound of slap resonated in the entire shop. He had slapped the man, speaking nothing.

Slap!

Bang!

After taking a heavy slap from Ayaan, the man's head smashed into the wall, blood dripped from his head. The man looked at Ayaan in a daze, not believing in his own eyes that a measly shopkeeper dared to slap him. He was a noble scion of a prominent family. How a lowly commoner dared to hit him!?

He might be powerful, but he couldn't be as powerful as his family. After all, Ayaan was just a shopkeeper at the end of the day.

A few seconds later, the man came out of his daze, viciously gazing at Ayaan, he threatened, "Do you know who I am? I am from one of the most powerful noble families. You will pay with your life for humiliating me!"

Ayaan didn't reply, and the man thought Ayaan was too scared to speak after hearing that he was from a noble family. He again gained his haughty attitude. He sneered at Ayan and looked at him with disdain, however, as he opened his mouth to speak—

Slap!

Another slap sounded in the shop, and a few teeth came out from the mouth of the boy, painting his mouth in blood. The boy suddenly felt the urge to cry and tears flowed from his eyes continuously, wetting his face.

Nevertheless, Ayaan sat on the sofa with Rebecca and looked at the boy before asking, "Who sent you?"

The young man looked at Ayaan, and this time he didn't dare to threaten Ayaan by the status of his noble family. Because he knew it wouldn't help him, anyway. Instead, it will make things even more miserable for him. He realised that Ayaan didn't give a damn about any noble family. Who was he, really?

"N-no one sent me. I-I came by myself." the man spoke with his trembling voice. Ayaan's question confused him. Why would some send me to this poor shop? He looked around and realised that the shop didn't look as poor as he thought.

Frown deepened on Ayaan's face when he didn't receive a satisfactory answer. At this moment, he realised that he had neglected something, and therefore, he changed his question, "Who told you about Rebecca?"

When the young man saw Ayaan frowning, he felt as if his breath stopped at that moment; therefore, when he heard Ayaan's second question, he didn't dare to remain silent and told everything to the shopkeeper, "It was brother Daniel, he told me about lady Rebecca!"

The expression on Ayaan's face didn't change, he continued to inquire, "Daniel? You mean Daniel, the savage from the Lawson family?"

"Yes. Yes. Brother Daniel told me there is a beauty comparable to the two princesses. That's why I came here." The man vomited everything out he knew, there was no other way to get out of the clutches of this demon in human skin.

However, Ayaan didn't care much about Daniel and his petty tricks. At this moment, something else attracted his attention, "You said, two princesses. Are there two princesses?"

Boom!

Just when the young man was about to speak, a booming sound resounded from outside the shop. The whole shop shook. Thereafter, a shout also came from the outside.

"How dare you sabotage the scion of a Ferlee family!?"

Ayaan didn't show any particular expression after hearing the shout. He had already realised that Daniel was trying to check the depth of the water by a borrowed sword. He stood up and walked out of the shop. An immense crowd had already gathered outside the shop as if waiting for a show.

At the front of the crowd was standing an old man with white hair, his eyes were shining with immense vitality. In a single glance, Ayaan could tell the magic realm of the man. He was a peak grade high mage. There were very few peak grade high mages in the capital, it was really a surprise that one appeared here.

"What do you want, old man?" Ayaan said with an unconcerned expression. He didn't care who he was, if he was here to cause trouble for him, he would just beat him white and blue.

The old man frowned when he saw the nonchalant behaviour of Ayaan. He felt like he was humiliating him. How dare a junior like him talk to me like that!?

Furious at his behaviour, the old man spoke threateningly, "Where is our young master? If any untoward were to happen with our young master, you will regret being born in this world."

Nonetheless, Ayaan didn't show any anger, instead, he replied languidly, "Are you talking about that worthless noble? What was his name again? Uhh… sorry, I didn't ask his name. He was too useless after all."

"How dare you insult our young master of the Ferlee family!?" Suddenly, the old man lost his temper when he heard Ayaan insult his young master.

The old man had taken an oath to serve the Ferlee family a long time ago. The ancestor of the Ferlee family had saved his life once upon a time, since then he followed him, becoming one of the most loyal subordinates of the family.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Hundreds of icicles formed around the old man, and he shot them towards Ayaan.

Although the strength of the icicles surprised Ayaan, it wasn't enough to hurt him. He emphasised that it was enough to hurt even some weak great mages.

When the surrounding people saw the icicles, they screamed with excitement.

"He is Uncle Thomas of the Ferlee family!"

"I heard he is one of the most powerful people at the peak of the high mage. Even some great mage can't take his attack head one!"

Just as the voice of the man faded, the small blades of ice reached Ayaan. At this moment, he lifted his hand and like a child's toy; he smashed all the icicles with an unbelievable speed. No one saw how he did that. To them, he was standing in the same position without moving an inch!

Crash!

Smash!

Some ice crystals landed on the ground while some smashed into the walls of the shop, producing a deafening sound.

Uncle Thomas gaped at the scene. He had anticipated many scenarios, but he never thought Ayaan could deflect his attack like nothing. That was the power of the great mage!

Ayaan looked at the old man with disdain, "Is that all? Pathetic!"

After seeing how effortlessly Ayaan deflected his attacks, Uncle Thomas was having second thoughts. However, when he heard Ayaan's taunt he felt deeply humiliated and again attacked in his fury. This attack was even more powerful.

Ice Hurricane!

The old man chanted his spell and a huge ice hurricane formed. After seeing the second attack of the man, Ayaan still didn't move.

Just when Hurricane was about a few meters away from Ayaan he also chanted a spell.

Attack Return!

Suddenly, a gate appeared in front of Ayaan swallowing a whole ice hurricane, leaving everyone utterly stunned in the surrounding. What was that? Where did that gate come from? Was that a spell?

Many questions popped up in everyone's head, especially Uncle Thomas. However, before he could think, the similar gate appeared above his head. What followed that was an ice hurricane which Uncle Thomas had sent towards Ayaan.

Uncle Thomas didn't move from his position, not that he was confident about defending himself, but he was too shocked and couldn't move in time.

Ice hurricane smashed into Uncle Thomas' head, and a miserable scream escaped from his mouth before the whole ice hurricane covered him.

Ahh!

Although Ayaan knew that the real culprit was Daniel or his family, he would not show any mercy to anyone who dared to threaten his life.

"Uncle Thomas!" Arnav Ferlee, who had just come out of the shop, saw the miserable end of Uncle Thomas with his own spell and felt pain in his heart.

Though he was slow, he could still discern that Daniel had planned all this because he had some personal grudge with that scary shopkeeper. Now, his family lost their loyal subordinate, just like that.

Slowly, the hurricane faded and Uncle Thomas again appeared in front of the masses, drowned in blood, lying miserably on the ground. He was just hanging by the last breath and could depart anytime.

"Someone save Uncle Thomas!" Arnav screamed and his voice became hoarse. It was his fault, and Uncle Thomas had to be with his life.

Nonetheless, no one spoke anything, it was almost impossible to save the man now. He was just hanging by the thread.

"Why don't you buy a healing potion? It can easily heal the injuries of that old man." Suddenly, a voice sounded in the silent surroundings.

When everyone looked at the man who just spoke, their eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
