Heaven Destroyer

Chapter 173: Merciless

"Prepare ten thousand gold coins." The bandit Leader looked at the people in front of him with his sharp eyes and said. "You have fifteen minutes for collecting the coins."

"How could you do this to us?!" one of the men shouted. He was none other than the Mayor of the city. "You know that even if we were to sell our pur every possession, we still won't have ten thousand coins!"

"It isn't my problem," replied the Bandit Leader while touching a mark on his face with his fingers. It was a huge wound from the past he had got in a fight with another bandit group. "How about this, we will take your women and enjoy them for sometime and when you have money, we will return them back, safe and sound? How does it sound?"

"Boss is always great." One of the bandits at the side said while licking his lips. "He always knows what we want."

"Of course that's why he is our Boss," said another bandit, chuckling.

"The women in this city aren't bad," another man grinned. "I always wanted to enjoy them, but Boss didn't give us permission."

"Haha, looks like our grotto is going to be filled with moans of bliss tonight."

When the citizens heard evil laughters of the bandits, they turned pale as sheets of paper. Their guards had already been defeated and slaughtered, lying on the ground in the pool of their blood, and they were also just like pigs waiting to be slaughtered by these merciless, emotionless, and disgusting bandits. Men stood hurriedly in front of their women, trying to hide them from these bandits' perverted gazes.

"We would never go with you!" suddenly a beautiful girl around the age of sixteen stood and shouted at the bandits. Her face was red from anger and humiliation, humiliation she had never gone through. How could a human become like these people, no, they were no longer human but animals in the human skin.

"Oh, you are not bad, energetic, unruly, and strong willed. I would love to break you." The bandit leader looked at the girl and his eyes glittered in excitement as if he had found a great toy to play with.

"Hmph!" the girl snorted and spit on the bandit leader's face.

The bandit leader looked at the girl and burst into a peal of laughter. "Haha, not bad, not bad, it would be fun to fuck you."

He laughed and wiped the spit from his face with his hand, and then he sniffed on his hand like a pervert. "Aha! Still virgin, I want to break that seal." After sniffing on his hand, he licked it and cleaned all the spit from his hand.

The people looked at his disgusting act and couldn't help but be intimidated by him. They were just ordinary people, low-level mages, and these bandits were cultivators; there was no way they could fight them.

"Stay back!" the Mayor shouted and pulled the girl behind his back.

"Father!" the girl cried, but the man didn't listen. He had hidden his daughter previously. However, she didn't listen to him and now a catastrophe was going to befall upon her.

"Shut up!" shouted the Mayor when he saw that she still dared to talk.

"Oh, Mayor, so she is your daughter," the Boss chuckled. "It is even better. Aren't you going to sacrifice your daughter for the betterment of your city?"

Mayor paled as he heard his words. How could a father destroy his child's life? There was no way he would make such a decision. No one could make. The decision such as that. He would rather die fighting instead of submitting.

"I won't let you touch my daughter!" said the Mayor with a firm voice, filled with conviction and determination. His eyes turned red and his hands trembled in nervousness. "If you destroy our entire village, the empire won't let you go."

"The Empire? What empire are you talking about?" the leader laughed with disdain. "They are nothing but dogs of others. And do you think they will do anything to us just because we destroy this city, heh? Then you are utterly wrong!"

He paused and walked to the Mayor. The Mayor looked nervous when he saw his action. However, the leader did nothing. He moved his lips close to the Mayor's ears and whispered. "If I tell you it was the Emperor who told us to capture all of you, will you believe it?"

The Mayor's eyes shot wide open in shock when he heard. He looked at the bandit leader's grinning face in disbelief. "Impossible!" shouted the Mayor.

"Hehe, tonight we are going to enjoy your women and daughters and tomorrow we will realise you and the empire will take care of you."

The Mayor trembled and his eyelashes fluttered and became dull. He never thought about the empire he was serving and thinking that they would protect him and his family from every difficulty was the prime culprit behind everything. It was the emperor who gave the bandits permission to destroy his village… these innocent people and their life were worth nothing… nothing.

If they were worth anything, then it was slavery! That's what the Emperor wanted to make them, isn't it? After all the Mayor wasn't stupid, he had seen many things in his entire life and now nothing seemed impossible in his eyes. The empire stood based on interest, after all.

"So that's how it is, so that's how it is," the Mayor mumbled, his eyes filled with ridicule and self mocking. This was the empire he was serving all this time. A Mayor of the empire felt as if he lived in vain. His life was without meaning, and his actions were even more so.

At this moment he looked at the bandit leader, eyes filled with conviction. He had decided, and decided, that he would die instead of becoming someone's slave and spend his life like a worm. The worm that could not even crawl with his own will, the will that would be left in name. The name that be left in only their minds. That was the life of slaves, and he refused to live such a life!

"Hoho," just when the man wanted to fight to his last breath, a weird sound echoed in the entire area. He looked towards the source and saw a group of youngsters walking towards them from not away. A handsome man and three beautiful girls, the beauty that was hard to describe with words. The words that fell short for their beauty.

"Who are you, boy?" the bandit leader said, looking at Ayaan sharply and when he turned towards his women, his eyes lit up, but when he felt the pressure coming from them he narrowed his eyes. He felt a dangerous feeling from a woman in this group. He looked at Leafwhisk seriously, and his heartbeat became fast when he saw how beautiful she really was. It was a fairy. No, they were all fairies!

"Oh, who I am isn't a question you can ask. It could get you in trouble, you know?" Ayaan said arrogantly while staring at the bandit leader.

The Mayor heard Ayaan's word and his eyes lit up. It looked as if he had seen a Saviour. "Sir, are you here to help us?" he said excitedly, and his eyes became wet due to emotions that he had bottled inside his heart.

The bandit leader also thought this group came here to save these people. However, he didn't care who these people were, because he had Emperor's support after all.

Ayaan looked at the Mayor emotionlessly. "Why would I help you? Who are you to me, my father-in-law?" he said and turned towards the bandit leader who had his mouth wide open due to his reply. "I am here to loot this village. Who knew that someone was already here? I will give you three breath's time to get lost."

"Too arrogant!" shouted one of the bandits. "Boss, say a word and I will slaughter him."

"Who does he think he is?" another bandit sneered. "Standing in front of our boss and still acting this arrogantly. He must have a death wish."

"Hehe, I remember last time 'Lan the Spider' dared to act arrogantly and his end wasn't pleasant."

"Yeah, I remember that incident as well. He was fighting our group for the territory, but Boss only warned him a few times, but then he dared to attack our grotto with his people. I still remember how our Boss separated his head."

"Aha! That brings memories back."

Ayaan looked at their act without change of expression while the bandit leader looked pleased when he heard his people praising him nonstop. Everyone loves to be praised, after all.

The Mayor's face once more lost its lustre and his last hope shattered. He looked at Ayaan and an idea appeared in his head. "Sir, I will give you all of our money if you protect us from these bandits."

Ayaan looked at the Mayor and frowned. He turned towards Leafwhisk. "He is making too much noise. Finish him."

Hearing Ayaan's words, everyone paled. Even the bandit leader narrowed his eyes. He still thought that Ayaan was here to help these people while only pretending to be a bandit. Now he had to re-evaluate his previous thoughts.

Before anyone could react, the ground burst and a gigantic tree appeared out of nowhere, embracing the Mayor into itself. The Mayor could only look wide eyed at the tree and being devoured inside.

"No, father!" shouted a sixteen-year-old girl who had stood in front of the bandit leader. Her eyes turned red as tears fell uncontrollably. With tears fell the girl on the ground. Screaming. Panting. Gasping in hatred, looking at Ayaan and a tree in front of her.
