Demon God

Chapter 234: Villain

"Hey. Are we really doing this?" A voice resounded out in this place.

This place was a dark room, and the man who said those words...couldn't be seen as the man was wearing clothes that had the shade of pure black.

The other people present in this place had the same clothes as the man who said those words.

And one of the people spoke with a stern voice.

"Of course. What are you hesitating for? This is what the Young Master ordered," the man said.

"But...this is just...too risky, isn't it? If word goes out, then...there would be no going back," one of the men interjected between the two.

"Idiot. There was already no going back when that Baho messed up these contracts. As far as I know, the reason why he is the one in charge of the city is because he was reliable. However, he turned out to be a corrupted man, so we already fucked up by then," the man with the stern voice answered.

He then continued, "Either way, this is what the Young Master has decided to do. As soon as the moon hides behind a cloud, we will make our move."

"Yes, vice-leader Rick Roll!" The men gathered in this place shouted simultaneously as they answered Rick Roll.

Of course, the waiting then began as they looked at the moon through a window.

"Are you fine now?" Desire's voice resounded out in the dining hall as he looked at Jarina, who was sitting across from him.

They were eating at a much smaller table compared to before.

"Yes. Anyway, I'm more curious about what you are doing. I heard from Ryu...what you are planning to do," Jarina said as she began to cut the meat on her plate with a knife.

"Ah? Well...I'm pretty sure it would work out. I wasted a precious day for this so the problem should be solved soon enough," Desire said.

After saying those words, he began to put meat in his mouth and began to chew it.

"Have you consulted Amelia about this?" Jarina asked Desire as she stopped cutting the meat on her plate.

She then continued, "This is a pretty risky move and it might do more harm than good."

"Even if your intentions are for the better, the aftermath of doing something like this is...not something that you can joke about. Even papa would be mad at you, you know that, right, Desire?" Jarina said.

"Are you talking about if they get busted?" Desire said as he looked at Jarina straight in the eyes.

"Don't worry about it, they won't-" Desire tried to say something else, but he was quickly cut off by Jarina.

"It's a certainty that we would get busted! The fact that the contracts would go missing tomorrow at the same time for all the merchants is already a sign that the Lion Clan had something to do with it!" Jarina said as if she was yelling at Desire.

Well, she couldn't help it. What Desire planned to do this time was something so risky that...it didn't even have any advantages of doing it.

Although Jarina always spoils Desire and lets him do whatever he wants, this time was just...a little bit too much.

What Desire planned to do was to steal the contracts and then have the Lion Clan act as if the contracts never happened at all.

And that would damage the Lion Clan's reputation severely since it would be obvious that they are the ones who did it.

However, there was something that Desire...had in plan for this case, and that was...

"Well, what you said is the truth. Fingers would be pointed at us, and even the public would say that the Lion Clan did something to steal the contracts."

"However...if there are no victims, then there are no problems, no?"

"No victims? What are you talking about?" Jarina said as her ears perked up almost immediately when she heard those words.

"Simple. There would be no victims if the merchants don't see themselves as victims," Desire answered.

And when Desire said it like that, Jarina finally realized what he was talking about.

"You mean..." Jarina murmured, and Desire continued, "That's right."

Jarina had a look of shock when Desire confirmed it for her. After all, if that were the case, then...the one who planned this all, Desire, is a huge villain.

Of course, those kinds of things didn't really matter for Jarina as it was just a matter of perspective.

However, it was a shock to her because...it was Desire who planned it.

For Jarina who was with Desire ever since he was a child, Desire looked nothing but an innocent and sweet man.

And to see the innocent and sweet child become such a huge villain...it was a shock to her.

"You're growing too fast, aren't you?" Jarina said with a thin smile on her face.

However, she was not done as she continued to speak, "How are you going to keep them silent after they get away from this city, though?"

When Desire heard those words, he quickly answered with a smile of his own, "Have you forgotten the weight and reputation of Master's personal soldiers?"

As soon as Jarina heard those words, she quickly realized what Desire was talking about.

After all, Lionel's personal soldiers were feared all throughout the Vakigo Kingdom.

No, it was not only in the Vakigo Kingdom but in all of the south of the continent.

Although no one really talks about them, people with power know the existence of the Lion King's personal soldiers.

Basically, the people with importance know about their existence.

And, merchants are people who deal with those important characters.

It was only natural that they would have heard a thing or two about Lionel's personal soldiers.

"Well, threatening them would work...for a short amount of time, but how about in the future? Things would always go awry the moment you become complacent," Jarina said.

"After five days or so, I am going to participate in that Pista or whatever it's called."

"I plan to use that event to make sure that their lips are tightly sealed," Desire said.

"Hmm...so you have already thought about it," Jarina continued as she nodded her head.

She then continued to eat her food. Seeing this, Desire had a thought, 'Whew. I finally got her approval.'

Desire was actually a little bit scared that Jarina wouldn't agree to this. After all, if Jarina didn't want him to do this, then Desire would have no other choice but to back down.

Of course, it was just because Desire respects Jarina and her perspective. Desire also thinks that Jarina knows things better than him, as it was always that way, so he trusts her that much when it comes to things like these.

Well, Desire didn't know, but there was no way that Jarina would want to pull Desire's hand unless it was extremely risky just like his current decision.

If it was any other situation, Desire could probably do anything he wants and Jarina wouldn't bat an eye.

"Anyway, why is it taking so long? The meeting with the Elves, I mean. It's been two days already, and they are still not done..." Desire initiated a conversation.

And it was in this way that the two spent their time together peacefully.

But of course, several houses outside of the Lord's mansion were filled with fear as Desire's plan started to get into action.
