Adopting and Raising the Male Lead and the Villain

Chapter 56 - Apology (1)

Chapter 56 – Apology (1)

Zhong Yuhuan hesitated for a little while then finally climbed up onto his back.

Li Jinyuan just carried her like that, all the way until their car arrived. Then, after they arrived home, he carried her upstairs and finally put her on the couch.

Zhong Yuhuan had totally enjoyed the experience of having an older brother and a younger brother.

Now that her stomach had stopped hurting, she contentedly went to take her shower.

Huo Chengming was the first to go to Zhong Yuhuan.

He would have already figured out the reason behind Zhong Yuhuan’s text to the both of them.

Li Jinyuan did not ask Zhong Yuhuan again for the reason. After they had arrived home and Zhong Yuhuan had walked inside her own room and closed the door behind her, Li Jinyuan turned and looked at Huo Chengming.

Li Jinyuan asked, “What happened today?”

Huo Chengming pursed his lips shut tight but finally repeated Zhong Yuhuan’s words to Li Jinyuan.

They were on the same side right now. Both of them were her baggage right now.

Li Jinyuan slowly looked less and less gentle and more and more cold. He said in a low voice, “Huanhuan must have been very upset.”

Huo Chengming’s face tensed up. Coldly, he said, “We can’t wait much longer.”

Li Jinyuan paused for a few seconds before he replied, “You are right, we can’t.”

Grandfather Ding did not know about the meeting between Ding Qiuyue and Zhong Yuhuan, but Lang Jinzhi found out about it shortly. He quickly called Zhong Yuhuan.

“When are you getting out of school? I will come pick you up?” asked Lang Jinzhi.

Zhong Yuhuan replied him with a time.

Lang Jinzhi responded immediately, “Okay, wait for me in front of your school!”

Zhong Yuhuan figured she would probably end up having dinner with Lang Jinzhi, so she let Huo Chengming and Lang Jinzhi know ahead of time and have them head out first.

When school let out, Zhong Yuhuan immediately spotted Lang Jinzhi’s car as soon as she walked outside her school.

The car was very low key, but that was exactly why it stood out even more in a line of luxury cars.

Zhong Yuhuan walked up, pulled open the car door, and sat in the passenger seat.

“No Secretary Cheng today?” asked Zhong Yuhuan dubiously.

“Mmmhmm,” nodded Lang Jinzhi, but he did not elaborate on the reasons.

Zhong Yuhuan could more or less guessed it; it probably has something to do with Ding Qiuyue.

After arriving at the restaurant and walking into the private room that Lang Jinzhi had booked ahead of time, Zhong Yuhuan saw Ding Qiuyue getting up from her seat.

As soon as she saw Zhong Yuhuan, Ding Qiuyue looked more and more pale.

“Jinzhi, I thought you and I are getting dinner together. How come you brought Zhong Yuhuan with you?”

Lang Jinzhi was calm, maybe even a hint of distant. Nonchalantly, he said, “You are a senior of hers. If words got out that you had bullied her, that would sound bad. Dinner is on me, why don’t you apologize to Yuhuan.”

Ding Qiuyue was immediately drained of colors. Her fingers digging into the strap of her purse, and she asked coldly, “Why do I need to apologize to her? What did I do wrong? I took her out to dinner, what was wrong with that? I had her best interests in mind, what was wrong with that?”

This scene brought back memory belonging to the original owner.

From the original owner’s memory, Ding Qiuyue and Father Lang had been separated for years, and Li Jinyuan grew up in the Lang’s. Every time he went to visit his grandfather, Ding Qiuyue was rarely around, so the two of them saw each other less and less.

The scene in front of her confirmed it.
