The Gamer's System

Chapter 41: Escaping the Capital

A lot of things followed after Zeke conjured the monster. But the most important one on the list is how Allesiah contacted him as soon as General Erio's conjured version appeared. The female elf told him that she has successfully fulfilled her mission and is now going to the portal. Zeke immediately went to the same route, leaving Glade on the battlefield.

It didn't take that long before Gallio got transported back to the scene, bringing us back to where things left off. Gallio saw Glade sitting on the corpse of the dead General – applauding his descendant for being able to beat an elven general.

"I see that my wife is out of the castle now." Gallio said, looking at a tracker on his hands. Apparently, Gallio planted something like this on the blood of Sylvia and Keith. Glade is aware of this but, there is nothing he can do if Gallio chooses to run after them.

"Nevermind her. I've got other things on my plate at the moment." Gallio said – a response which Glade expected in the current situation. More than anything else, Gallio waited 1,00 years to reveal himself again and, he won't delay this for another second.

The other group which is of concern have now met in the location of the portal. Sylvia would've gone to the center of the capital had it not been for Zeke lying to the Windsprite sisters. He told them that Hark is now secured, a message which made them all hurry as they went on their way to the portal.

As soon as they met up. Sylvia looked at the surroundings, expecting to see her husband together with Zeke. However, the man is nowhere to be found, putting a look of worry on the female elf's face.

"Wait, where's Hark?" Sylvia asked, not seeing his husband anywhere.

"I'll explain everything later. But right now we gotta go." Zeke said but then, the two elder Windsprites refused to cooperate.

Sylph wanted to get back at Glade while, Sylvia wanted to find her husband. Both are nuisances to Zeke of course however, just leaving them here to die would leave a poor taste in his mouth.

"Their deaths won't benefit Allesiah's growth." He thought to himself, knowing that a possible outcome if they don't follow his orders is that, they would die. Primarily due to Gallio of course who wishes nothing more than to study the Windsprite genes now that he has come out of hiding.

"You're not giving me much of a choice here. There is a great evil waiting for us and, if you don't cooperate then your son will get caught up in this mess." These words snapped Sylvia back to reality. Between her husband and her son, she knows that both she and Hark would prioritize Keith's safety. Hence, she went as instructed – with Sylph finally deciding to follow.

As they returned to the manor, Zeke made the necessary preparations. He knows that Gallio may strike any time and, if this is the case, then he needs to take all members of the household away from the capital. But of course, this isn't something he can perform. Hence, he asked Sylvia to call out all members of the household for a short meeting.

"This is how things stand at the moment." Zeke began.

The explanations were brief and concise, answering every question raised as he went along. The main parts of which stated how, the first king is still alive and that, he shares with Hark's body.

"I'm guessing that the king has placed a sort of detection device on both Keith and Sylvia. We do not have the time to look for those but, there is something else that we can do." Everyone listened to Zeke's words as if, he is the solution to everything that has just befallen Elysium.

"We are going to split up. I'll take the Windsprites and two other useful aides. The rest of you need to disperse and run as far away from the capital's network as possible. Burn the house down and leave no trace as you do this."

"But I thought there is a tracker on us, how can we escape?" Sylvia asked.

"I have a solution for that, trust me." Zeke said, giving the group a reassuring smile.

Right after the meeting ended, Sylvia gave the orders to follow as Zeke instructed.

Everyone moved in a hurry except for Zeke who sat at a corner – looking at all the notifications that came. Among the rewards for his various quests, there is something which he has yet to claim, that is – [A Meeting with the Goddess of the Hunt].

He has viewed this mission before. During the time when Glade backstabbed the group and placed a sleeping spell on Zeke, he took his time in editing the settings of the [Gamer's System] as well as looking at the information of the said reward which reads:

[The gamer, together with his party members, will be sent to a separate dimension owned by the Goddess Yeager.]

Having a separate dimension means that, the tracker would not work as it would be out of range. Just like the concept of signals on WIFI and phones, there is a certain limit to a link's reach.

The other thing mentioned in the information is about a party system. This is also a reason why he didn't claim it yet. If the option states that he can add other people to the group then, it means that they would share with the benefits of his visit. Furthermore, there would be more use to the reward as a means of escape in a difficult situation – one which is exactly what they are going through at the moment.

Zeke thanked his fight with General Erio because, as he defeated the elf, his level has gone through level 40, giving the [Gamer's System] another patch. This led to him being able to do as the information displayed which is, the adding of party members.

On his right window is a list of people nearby who are identified as allies. Zeke went through the list and added the names of the three siblings, Keith, and the other two elves who would tag along.

"Master, my sisters are coming soon and everyone is prepared to leave." Allesiah said, packing nothing but her staff and a small bag.

"You probably shouldn't call me that from now on. Your sisters might find out about the contract and I don't want more unnecessary conflict." Zeke said, with Allesiah nodding to his request as the other members of Zeke's group came along.

"Are we all set?" Zeke asked, with all of them giving their approval.

At this, everyone moved out of the house, with the group of Windsprite servants moving towards the forest. As soon as they enter it however, the servants would separate as their numbers would raise suspicion on the nearby towns.

The house began burning with the spells placed inside and, as it did, Zeke opened the panel of the Gamer's System, clicking on the reward and transporting them without a trace being left. As soon as they did, Gallio has begun his speech to address the continent.

"People of Elysium. Rejoice!" Gallio began, imitating the voice of Aeolus and his manner of speaking.

"Sh*t that sounds so gay. HAHAHAHA!" He roared in laughter.

Glade watched the whole scene nearby, giving commands to their troops to wrap things up.

"Okay so here's the deal. I am your king now." Gallio continued. At this, the whole capital fell silent for a moment, as if there is a sort on unimaginable event that has occurred.

"Under elven law – I Gallio Leonis, first born of the Leonis household, have defeated the current king on a night of the full moon." Gallio sounded triumphant and, he was. There is no way for anyone to beat him as he is and, after he gets the genes out of the Windsprites, he'll be able to go 100%, without anything being able to stop him anymore.

"Come on tell them Aeolus." He continued, placing the communication crystal near Aeolus' mouth. All he got where wheezes of pain with his defeated opponent having great difficulty in breathing.

"Ahh this suck. He can't even speak anymore." Gallio continued, kicking the dethroned King and making him hit a house.

"Anyway. This is all you need to know. Starting tomorrow, all followers of the previous regime will be slaughtered without mercy. There will be a great culling and I will make sure that, none of the first council's households will be left standing before the day ends." He said this while walking towards Aeolus. He then kicked the beaten down opponent on the chest, breaking more bones in the process and making his enemy scream in even more pain.

"The lion is back on his rightful throne." He said, removing the cape worn by Aeolus and placing it on himself. At this, he threw the communication necklace away and proceeded to getting the crown that got stuck in one of the demolished houses.

Right after the broadcast, Gallio proceeded to commanding his troops to take the beaten-up Aeolus and the dead Gallio back to his base of operations.

"Their bodies will be beneficial for my research." Gallio said, going immediately to the next task at hand which is, getting the Windsprites.

Right after everything is dealt with, he proceeded to checking Sylvia's tracker. As he did, the smile on his face disappeared as he called on his descendant.

"Glade."

"Yes my King?" He replied.

"Something's off. Sylvia is nowhere within Elysium."
