The Wanderer Base evacuated Jinshui Lake overnight, after the Life Bases of all five Ascenders shattered into debris, yet they only received a single sentence in return.

Since Jiyun Mountain is where the Wanderer Base is located, they knew exactly what that meant.

Yet, they didn’t dare to look back, as even now they couldn’t shake off the image of that terrifying white storm and the shattering of their Life Bases from their minds.

This time it was because the other person’s relative didn’t die, but what if they had? They didn’t dare even to imagine.

The person didn’t die, and so that person killed Zheng Guyuan and even crushed the Life Bases of five Ascenders.

If that person had died, they couldn’t imagine what the scene would have looked like the moment flower petals fell from Jiyun Mountain, likely rivers of blood would flow.

Perhaps some Ascenders might be able to withstand that storm of white petals, but 99% of the people from the Wanderer Base would die.

They couldn’t understand why the Life Base of an Ascender appeared that way.

Shouldn’t a Life Base be like a sword or a dagger, or something of that sort? Lin Shen quickly led Wei Wufu toward Gourd Mountain, racing to find her before Bai Shenfei could reach there; only then it wouldn’t be too late.

The two men spurred their horses into a furious gallop, chasing relentlessly.

After passing through Flower Path and the gorges, they still hadn’t spotted any trace of Bai Shenfei and her company, a chill instantly settling in their hearts.

“Something’s wrong!” Just as Lin Shen was about to turn back, he suddenly realized something was amiss and looked up toward the distant mountain range.

Among those numerous mountains, there stood a gourd-shaped peak, conspicuously towering above the surrounding landscape and much taller than the other mountains.

“Wei, do you see it?” Lin Shen, thinking his eyes were playing tricks on him—without the Dark Bird, how could he see Gourd Mountain?

“Hmm,” Wei Wufu nodded.

“Then there’s no mistake, let’s hurry, Bai Shenfei and her group should be just ahead.” Lin Shen thought it must be because Bai Shenfei had just entered that they were able to see Gourd Mountain.

They increased their pace and rushed toward the direction of Gourd Mountain.

Upon reaching the foot of Gourd Mountain, they realized that the mountain was indeed quite tall.

“Wei, was this where you came last time?” Lin Shen asked Wei Wufu while climbing upward.

“Yes.”

“That’s good then, let’s quickly climb up. The cave entrance is at the peak, right?” Lin Shen confirmed once more.

“Yes.”

“Wei…”

“Stop blathering, climb the mountain.”

After considerable effort, the two finally reached the peak but still did not see Bai Shenfei and the others.

As Wei Wufu had said, there was a cave at the top. Lin Shen looked inside and felt it didn’t seem as dark as Wei Wufu had described.

“Let’s go.” Wei Wufu couldn’t stand Lin Shen’s hesitation and stepped into the cave.

However, after Wei Wufu entered, he suddenly froze.

Lin Shen, following him in, bumped straight into his back, somewhat exasperatedly saying, “Why did you stop?”

“Something’s not right,” Wei Wufu stated blankly, staring ahead.

“What’s not right?” As soon as Lin Shen spoke, he already began to register what was amiss.

Wei Wufu had told him that the last time they came here and entered the pitch-black cave, they were immediately transported to Realm King Planet.

Yet now that they were inside the cave, it was neither pitch-black nor had it transferred them to Realm King Planet.

“Are you sure this is the same cave you visited before?” Lin Shen circled around the tall Wei Wufu and peered into the cave.

With that look, Lin Shen also became stunned.

The cave wasn’t very deep; one could see to the end with just a glance.

Clearly, there were signs that someone had lived there—tables, chairs, stools, pots, pans, and the bed even had neatly folded blankets and clothes.

However, thick dust covered everything, suggesting that no one had lived there for a long time.

“That object’s shape looks very familiar.” Lin Shen saw something on the table that looked much like a transport watch, also covered with a thick layer of dust, obscuring any detail.
